Love this deal, Pez is a solid 4th liner who knows his role. Don't mind that he's willing to throw down as well, because we can't have Xhekaj doing all the fighting.

Beck can't play in the AHL next season, until his junior career ends. He has a long way to go before he can be an NHL regular. But at least he looks like a better prospect than freaking Mesar 😢 I hated the pick when they made it and that hasn't changed. I wanted Tristan Luneau, and of course he blew up this year in junior.🤐
I'm fine with Pezz, he is the type of 4th liner we want during this stage of the rebuild. I want guys like him on the 4th line while filling the top 3 lines with prospects who are showing they are ready to move up from the AHL. Caufield at any dollar less than what Suzuki for 8 years is fantastic, great contracts and players to build a team around. We need to have a pay structure that everyone knows their place in the pecking order of the team.

Even if a team did put up an offer sheet for Caufield. Unless it was something completely stupid like $11-$12 mil X 8 (very unlikely to happen) then the Habs were always going to match it. If someone was that dumb however, then what do you do? Take the 4 1sts? I wouldn't want to loose Caufield, but offering that much $$$ it would be ludicrous to match
