  1. I hate to say it but Laffy is more likely to be traded because we have too many left wingers.

  2. I honestly think in this draft 11th would be an overpayment. The Rangers would have to take back a bad contact or throw in a sweetner

  3. unless its a defenseman the;y wont be trading their first. Dont be ridiculous.

  4. Also playing as much with Chytil as his center slowed down his progress. I love Chytil but he is a wing that they made into a center and it took time. Move Kakko and Laffy into the top 6 with Mika and Vinny at center. Move Kreider onto a line with Chytil

  5. This is exactly the kind of move the Canucks would make. The draft is deep, so why not give up both of those picks for a top 4 defenseman with a year left and expected to get a big raise and an RFA who will probably want a bridge deal and we don't even know if he's a top 6 forward in the near future. But why not give another American team a high draft pick that they can turn into a star and win the Cup with while Canadian teams win nothing and have some American teams on their welfare program.

  6. Aside from him being drafted 1st overall….all I hear about him is maybe this maybe that. No thanks

  7. I could for sure see a Laf to Van City trade but not for the 11th pick in '23. Look for a hockey trade, with NYR taking more money and a secondary pick, and VAN getting younger and cheaper. Or nothing at all.

  8. Even if this draft is stacked, Laf is still worth more than a 11th pick… Laf might not become ur franchise player or star forward, but he'll for sure be a top 6 forward for very very long. No guarrantees the 11th pick will do anything either… You're trading a POTENTIAL for something PROVEN. Wouldn't take anything less than 5th draftpick if that's how we'd offload Laf (we shouldn't offload him at all, he is doing just fine with 0 fkn powerplay minutes)

  9. Why would a team develop another prospect knowing its not their strong suit. Not to mention the Rangers are still a playoff team, unless they get the 11th pick and a solid player, and if that happens the other GM needs to be fired for getting scammed. Go with the trials with Laf and make him actually play lmao.

  10. As a Canucks fan i dont see our new management trading our 1st. We've traded our first pick for several years in a row and have gotten nowhere with it. If we were to trade it, it would be at the cost of offloading some bad contracts (Ie; OEL/Myers)

  11. At this point, just keep laff. You're not going to get anything great and he is a fine 3rd liner as is. If he does a Mika and takes a few more seasons–the return they get now will be criminal in hindsight.

  12. I remember Guy Lafleur not be very good in his fist two years while Dionne (the second pick) tore things up. Now of course Dionne became a great player but Lafleur became a legend after a couple of years of development. I would really like to see the Canucks do well, and maybe they give Laffy the chance to develop if he wants. If there is a way to get him for the 11th and the Rangers taking on the disaster Tyler Mylers contract that IMO would be a win for the Canucks

  13. I would like to know who that 11th pick is and Lafreniere is still very young, hate for the Rangers to be rushing and letting a good thing go where he will become a quality player on another team.

  14. A first overall pick who barely plays on the PowerPlay and has been stuck on the third line for 98% of his career. For an 11th overall pick if the New York rangers are stupid enough to make that deal, Vancouver would jump all over it, but it’s not going to happen.
