Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth collapsed during a stoppage of play in his team’s Saturday game against the New Jersey Devils and was wheeled off the ice on a stretcher.Neuvirth’s eyes were open when a television camera panned onto his face and he appeared to be alert. At one point Neuvirth sat upright on the ice. He was then stretchered off to the applause of home fans at Wells Fargo Center.

That overhead look is scary as hell. Knowing no one was there to help break his fall, at least, he had on padding and a helmet.
And good on the Devils medical staff going out to help. To them, there are no teams – just human beings who need their help.
