Read the article. Thats ones about the wings.

THIS ONE is about the leafs.

The most high-profile incident involved Mitch Marner during his rookie season with the Maple Leafs. As first reported by Terry Koshan of Postmedia, Babcock “was alleged to have asked one of the Leafs’ rookies to list the players on the team from hardest-working to those who, in the eyes of the rookie, didn’t have a strong work ethic.” Koshan reported at the time that Babcock “told the players who had been listed at the bottom” about Marner’s ranking

Who wants an abusive, manipulative coach around all our young talent eh?

Id rather hire the corpse of lord stanley than Babcock the abuser or Quenvillie the rapist defender. Ive always had a lot of respect for jarmo but if he hires one of them that it for me. Id want him gone. Jd too sadly. Love em both, but either of those moves would be unforgiveable for me as a person and as a fan.

I love this team in spite of my best instincts. I’ve invested basically my entire adult life in being a fan (I’m 35 now). But it’s an abusive relationship for me and I’m so tired. I’m tired of defending the constant boneheaded moves, of putting up with the mockery from the league at large and other fanbases. And that mockery is all very much deserved. Most pathetic franchise in North American sports, and it isn’t even close.

I’m sorry that this sub is so offended that I’ve been open that Babcock is my last straw. I can’t know his history with both Detroit and Toronto and in good faith support him in Columbus. I can’t support a regime that would hire a person with that history. If these reports are true and not just fanbase temperature test balloons, then that’s that. I could swallow things like Larsen and signing Gudbranson to that deal, but I just can’t get past this.

Who the fuck thought this was a good idea? They better surround him with people who will keep him in line and not a bunch of mouth-shut “Yes”-Men.

Jarmo better keep him on a real fuxking short leash, this whole ‘in Jarmo we trust’ is dwindling…

I’m so glad we hired a more abusive torts. Gonna be great for the morale if we miss playoffs again.

Losing with a coach you like and losing with one you hate are very different on a locker room.

Streptobabcockus is a virulent form of contagious cancer!

Maybe it’s good we didn’t get 2 overall since Fantilli can play the NCAA refuse to sign and become FA card

I’m going to be a contrarian here, but I’m beginning to warm up to this idea. Larsen had zero follow through and zero ability to hold players accountable. Babcock will. That said I’m not going to have any tolerance for him pulling the shit he’s done in the past (especially that shit he did to Mitch Marner). If there’s any hint of that still being in him then can him. Otherwise, I’m willing to let Jarmo cook and see what Babcock brings

Fuck him with a stack of rusty razor blades.

To all the defenders of this hire just wait till you realize CBJ will arguably be the worst team he’s coached in the NHL talent wise. If he could only muster a single cup on a stacked Wings team that should have won more one could argue. Then failed so miserably in Toronto how on Earth do the defenders of this think he’ll somehow fair better? His entire career was a fluke, he toppled the Wings as the Ducks HC and that one series propelled him up on a pedestal. Ask Wings fans what they think of him and if its not an expletive laden reply about what happened to Franzen. Or the benching of Modano ask someone else cause that’s not a Wings fan. That’s coming from the Franchise he had the most success with.
