With the rumors that ownership has ordered the Panthers management to shed upwards of $10 million in salary, Weegar can likely be acquired for cheap (a draft pick or Justin Holl). For the player he is currently and is expected to be over the next couple of seasons, that’s a deal you make without hesitation.
According to stats from Evolving-hockey.com and @jfresh, Weeger has been better than 89% of defenseman at 5v5 offense, and 98% of defenseman at defense over the last 3 years, by Goals Above Replacement. He was worth 2.6 Wins last year (and over 1 win in both prior seasons) and is a star player, essentially, just one without name-brand recognition.

Will fla say yes to this trade tho? Rosie is kinda long overdue.. just a few picks away from kyle connor and look how huge the gap is between the 2..
Not jack damn
how about a swap with the islanders for devon toews or maybe roslovic and a first for pulock
64 PIM is a lot? Wow…times have changed.
Weegar is too good we’re gonna have to add
Vegas has a lot of interest in Roslovic, me thinks that due to their cap crunch, we get Martinez and a 4th or a prospect. Vegas clears 4m to help keep them below cap, we get our stop gap for defense for when Samberg/Heinola make the jump, and we can always re-up him for a year or two if needed. It's a simple solution that overall makes our team competitive this year, and helps us when Perfetti/Samberg/Heinola make the jump to the show coming next season, and it costs us very little in assets.
Go jets g
Question How come the Jets not placed Bryan Little on LTIR and use that money for a top 6 dman
