If they are both healthy Ferland is the better choice…for now.

I like your ideas … give Ferland a full game in the exhibition just to see if he can survive (health-wise) and be abrasive and effective. MacEwen seems to have a leg up on Virtanen this week. And I hope the veterans like Motte, Beagle, Sutter & Eriksson prove their worth in the Play-Ins and Play-Offs!

Virtanen will never be the player we expect him to be here. If he wants to progress in his career it’s best he go somewhere else even if that means it ends up biting us. Being at home has given him too much comfort
I throw Ferland in there vs the Jets – see how he feels, ask the docs if he's good to go. If he is – I roll with this:

Ferland-Beagle-Virtanen
I know – you're gonna ask WHO PK'S?! Well, as far as I've heard.. MacEwen is really dialing in his defensive game and I give him a shot. Horvat is an O'Reilly/Kesler lite – play him there too. Rous/Beagle.
If not just replace Virtanen with Motte.

Clay liked the video…. I think you’ve got a pretty solid grasp in my opinion on the line combos that Green will run with. I’m hoping that Virtanen also plays in a 4th line role. If it’s up to me, I’d have Sutter, Ferland and Erickson sitting. Macewen, and Virtanin are the younger faster and more physical players. Ferland is a risk, Erickson doesn’t stand out in anyway. Sutter is a good faceoff and 2 way player but beagle is better for that 4th line role and spot. Gaudette has won the 3rd line center spot. So in a pinch they have 5 potential centers in the lineup already in Horvat, Gaudette, Beagle, Pettersson and Miller.
No…virtanen skated well so far this year…was on pace for over 20 goals…created offense…like what??
