Free Agency opens today in the NHL, and for one final time we talk about the free agents available. But this time, we try and give our earnest predictions on what players will fit the Red Wings molds the best. Could it be LW Ondrej Palat? Or maybe they will target a C like Trocheck or the Strome brothers. Defense could always use bolstering and Brett Kulak and Nikita Zadorov would do just that. #lgrw

    Regarding dylan strome
    He was over a point per game in the ahl while still in the coyotes system. Didn't get a chance in Arizona because his defense was a black hole.
    Since going to Chicago he's produced with kane or debrincat, but also produced without them.
    His defense still sucks but it's much improved to the point his offensive output makes up for it.
    He's more a playmaker, but when he shoots, he buries it ( 14.9 career shooting percent ).
    Stromes 5 on 5 production per 60 is comparable to barkov.
    Being only 25, I think strome would be a fantastic fit with this team

    I predict Trochek and a LD not named Staal, Dekeyser, or Leddy. I'd be stoked for Zadorov, but I think SY goes for an older D on a short term deal because all of the depth in the system at that position.

    We dont need to sign anyone until we establish that we are ready to win. Last yr we went in the opposite direction which put us in an undesirable place. We literally have no idea who is a keeper moving forward besides 3 guys.

    he may not sign anyone or atleast not long term like these free agents are looking for we got a few players probably ready to go already in the system come training camp 🤔🤷‍♂️👍

    Either Strome would be an affordable improvement for scoring balance. Both would be a coup. Gaudreau is a pipe dream, but dreams are free.
