Matthew Boldy: The Jack of All Offence | 2019 NHL Draft Report | Miroki

Matthew Boldy is one of the most intriguing prospects for me because he has such a fantastic combination of skills but his numbers and skating ability are average for a top end prospect. In this video, I hope to explore Boldy’s strengths and weaknesses through video analysis and statistics and ultimately project his impact into the NHL.

  1. This was an excellent video. Seems well researched and well reasoned with good clips to support your analysis! Subscribed! My only critique is on the design side of things. White text on a salmon pink background is difficult to read and the font for the lists don't need to be quite so large.

  2. Since I haven't seen this comparison yet;  I see similarities with Boldy to Horvat.  Similar skill sets, both have size but don't use it in a punishing sense, but more of a tactical sense. Both have / had knocks on skating ability.  They even have the same goal celly.  Obvious difference here is that Boldy is a winger where Horvat plays center.  My prediction is that there is no way Boldy drops past 12th overall.  Flyers will not pass him up (if he is still available to them).

  3. Great stuff, sir. I wonder if he falls to VGK. Him or Caufield would be excellent; though I doubt they want to make such a boom-or-bust pick with CC. Boldy seems to be more of a sure thing IMHO, which is probably why they go with Boldy should he fall that far.
