It’s possible. I don’t know how likely it is, but he could play in the Olympics if he does it.

    I think he goes. Detroit is in a bad cap situation.

    It's a tricky spot. Next year they need cap space to sign Larkin and Mantha. They will free up some, but something they'll have to keep an eye on. This is a team that is on the downswing and doesn't have much cap space now or in the immediate future.

    If he signs a longer term contract in the KHL, we will see what he was asking for that the wings were not ready to do.

    I wish Philly could pick him up assuming he gets better in the future. Could be a very solid top 6 guy on the team and would help keep our forward depth relevant once Giroux/Vorac/Simmonds slip a bit.

    I would love to see AA on the New York Rangers but I doubt it. He could definitely fit in our system and get good minutes

    IMO, Athanasiou should be looking at a 1 year deal & a chance to play Top 6 minutes this season if he doesn't jump ship to the K. If he does, maybe he signs on for a year, plays well & stars in the Olympics, leading him to getting a big NHL payday. We'll see with him.

    I know offer sheets are frowned upon for GMs around the league, but what are the chances Dale Tallon says "Ah fuck it" and throws an offer sheet of 3 mil per for AA? I would take that deal all day long.

    I think this is just a negotiating tactic by his agent, blown way out of proportion by the media, and everyone is way overreacting.

    Im wings fan and I dont want him to leave. I mean KHL is very good league but….we need him. Especially now when Larkin sucked.

    I think there is a possibility for Andreas Athanasiou going to the Penguins instead, he is listed as a C-on NHL.com. And for about 2m.$ i think he would be a good 3line center. Is this completely unheard of or is it a possibility? Because Jim Rutherford has announced already that they are looking for a 3rd line center.

    Would be cool to see a video of any other suggestions for possible 3rd centres to fill that role, but I guess not everybody cares.

    Oilers Offer Sheet? His speed would go great alongside 97. Offer sheeting him for 2.5M X 3 years would give the Oilers a great winger for 97 and would give them a guy that can replace Nugent-Hopkins, on a cheaper contract
