gem of a story that i’ll probably butcher, but rumor is that mogilny was PISSED to be sent down. he didn’t show up to the first practice, and was called into the coaches room.
coach said “it’s a $500 fine for missing practice.” AlMo said “okay, how many practices are left?” The coach looked puzzled and said “about 30?” Mogilny wrote a check for $15,000 and said “see you at the games”.
