I would have been more comfortable closer to 7 but thats with basically a nothing increase to the cap this year but if it jumps by a significant amount next year like its supposed to once the escrow is paid off i can live with it being this close to 8 i love the kid.
Everyone shit there pants and thought Caufield wasn’t gonna sign or he was asking for 9 million (which he could have easily asked for) but I knew it would happen and I knew he would sign very close to Suzukis contract and at most 8 million flat but he came in just below Suzukis contract… I’m super happy because what this does now is it sets a really good internal Cap Structure and now if your not better then Suzuki Or Caufield, How are you gonna ask for more then both of them!!! So in my opinion because of caufield and Suzuki taking discounts, Montreal will win a Stanley cup in 6 years maybe even 5 years!! Mark my words..
