They gambled on Dach and got a wonderful player. Let's hope gamble #2 will work just as well!
😅they will waive him
Honestly I feel they won’t qualify him and he will go to Russia.
No way they are paying him 3 million per year if he has work ethic and defensive issues
Is he a physical player?
I like the trade and my gut tells me good things happen around MSL.
From your report and description of this guy… I thought you were talking about Drui…geesh give us a break…
More assets for future trades. Nothing more.
I really hope he turns it around. Seemed like a good locker room guy that everyone liked in Dallas, just not doing anything right on the ice.
I'm not sure if it was Scotty Bowman or the Coach before him, Pollack who said, you can't teach speed or the subtleties great players have. So, the Habs are building for the future, they got younger and they got a VERY talented player. I believe that in the right environment Gurianov will flourish. The End. AD.
Classic buy low with upside, even if you sign him for one yr, 6’3” forwards with speed and skill, always in demand worst case he gives the young guys time to develop in Laval
most importunately Gurianov is a RFA this summer – will be surprised if Habs sign him moving forward.
Nothing to hate about that trade
We’re english here… 😮
The concern about this player is that he took an extended 9 days of personal time for family reasons. Being he is a Russian citizen to me this could be a problematic matter. It's a no risk no reward try out though. MSL could be a fixer upper for him in the remaining games. My guess another team may pick him up on a team friendly contract if he performs with the Habs. A work in progress for sure.
Maybe it's just a flip. Sounds like he's undervalued and Hughes might want to get his value back up and flip him for an even more impactful player next year.
I disagree with you. Dadonov is a good defensive player. His 5v5 stats are some of the best in the league.
I'm shocked that Hughes was able to find anyone to take Dadanov. It will be interesting to see how Gurianov performs for the rest of the season, to find out what Montreal has in return. Definitely a no lose trade.
This is a zero risk acquisition. He has enough games left to basically audition and MTL can decide if they want to keep him.
Since Montreal always trade 3-4th line Stanley Cup winners, I WILL BE LOOKING AT DALLAS VERY CAREFULY 😀 thanks for sharing
As a fan, we either trust the process or we don’t and I think the early returns are good. Getting rid of Davydov just the latest positive deal. Matheson for Petry, getting Dach from Chicago, Kovacevic for basically nothing just a few off the moves this group has made so far. Everyone that watches this has wishes and hopes for the deadline; I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as the deadline approaches. Go Habs,!
