Adam is severely underrating Anderson’s trade value. Especially if traded to a rival in division, it wouldn’t be a small return. I’m not saying it can’t happen, but the Habs aren’t in any rush to trade Anderson.
I also think it’s funny they talk about Caufield being injury prone. He’s really just had the one injury. Yes his size represents injury risk moving forward, but one injury doesn’t all of a sudden make a player injury prone.
I like the podcast, but they are clearly less informed, and out of touch on teams other than the Leafs.

Anderson+5th overall for Nylander+28th overall, who says no? I’m not saying it’s a slam dunk but I’d love to have Nylander in our top 6
Edit: alright y’all don’t want that trade lol fair enough. I think Nylander is being a bit underrated here but the people raising concerns about his next contract make a fair point.

If the Leafs want Anderson’s overpaid ass, they are welcome to have him. The dude is 29 and has only ever scored more than 32 points once in his career. It’s not even like Anderson is good as a supporting player. His play style is very individualistic (skate fast down the wing, cut to the net, one and done shot opportunity), and he didn’t work well when playing with our skill guys (Suzuki, Caufield). It feels like the hype around Anderson exists solely because he’s big, not for anything he actually does on the ice.

Anderson is a good player. what makes his value so bad is the shitty contract he comes with. Who would want him at $5.5M AAV for another 4 years? No one. you can get similar players for half of that; so the Leafs will never want him at that price point. It would strap them even more.
Caufield’s contract id great for the habs, especially that the Cap in the years to come will move up so this contract will look even better as it runs. Great signing. IMO he prob could have gotten more. He is loved by the fans and his value to the franchise is huge with so many Caufield Jerseys out there. Great jog Hughes. Next step is to secure a good skating 2way center. The league is about speed and to shutdown other top lines you definitely need a responsible fast Center.

We need to fill out line up with some decent players, and we can’t have 9+ guys under 23.
