People flipping out over leaving JVR exposed are not thinking. The 3 guys exposed all big contracts. Makes Seattle take 1 of them. Flyers need to get Tarasenko if shoulder is ok. Won't have to give up much.

What I don’t like about this deal is the term on Ellis’ contract and Ellis has been banged up a little bit. All that being said I’m a big fan of Ellis and welcome him to the team. Go Flyers!!
Here’s the thing. Nolan Patrick and Phil Myers still have potential and might be able to become decent players in this league, but we no longer have the time to wait for them to develop. We need legitimate players and real defensive help NOW. Ellis is an established and consistent player that should do wonders for our blue line and specifically Ivan Provorov. Carter Hart too.
Carson Wentz, Markelle Fultz, and Nolan Patrick: the Holy Trinity of Top 2 overall Philly draft picks who had high expectations, had injury problems, lost confidence, and were traded within 5 years of being drafted.
Throw in Ben Simmons to make a Mt. Rushmore.

I love this trade by the Flyers, Predators, and Golden Knights with a three way trade, the Flyers needed help on our defense and trading two young players and still could have potential, but especially Nolan Patrick was a disappointment last season, Ryan Ellis will help this Flyers defense out.
Still think Flyers need to add offensive player who has burst & shot that will scare other teams on powerplay. This team is badly lacking that type of player.
Nolan Patrick had a +/- of -20. He hasn’t done a damn thing since he signed with the Flyers. Does he still have potential despite this? Yes; but it sure as hell wasn’t showing in his time here. A player that’s -20; and was supposed to be a first overall pick? His ass needed to go. It’s sad because I had high hopes for the kid.
Meanwhile; my hometown team in the Coyotes just got rid of Connor Garland, Niklas Hjalmarsson, and is considering getting rid of Michael Bunting… Yeah I’ll be watching my grandfather’s Philadelphia Flyers for next season. My hometown team will be a Disney On Ice Clown show and management screwed the team up… AGAIN.

This team definitely missed out on niskanen last year and Ellis should help fill that role, if not improve that top line from 2 years ago. Myers will be missed, but as you said, we have young defenseman. We needed a top 2 D more than a young top 4 D. As for Patrick, I feel like there was a chance he had more to show, as he was only 1 year off of missing an entire season. But my ceiling would've been a really solid 3C, which I don't mind losing for this deal. Only thing now is that I feel this team has some minor gaps with 3C and who will fill the top 4D spot. I do wonder how much ability they'll have to fill those roles with the cap and current RFAs, but I like the direction and we'll just have to see what Fletcher has in store. And who knows, maybe York or zamula will be ready. I worry a little about too many young d guys in the top 4, but that issue should already be better by having Ellis now.
I say trade for Eichel because of the recent history of how good former Sabres players are after they leave Buffalo

Aube Kubel does take bad penalties, but he is also one of the few forwards who plays a physical game. Who else ever hits anybody among that forward group?
Myers ceiling is Pronger, not Ellis. Ellis is better now, but in 2 to 3 years, I think Flyers fans will look back and think "Fuck.", 😂.

We need some speed up front. Ellis is a very good addition and can help develope these other young defenseman.Speed is an issue up front though.
Tarasenko worries me and can’t help but be reminded of the Peter Forsberg being in and out with injuries.

But I am sold & all in being a diehard faithful Flyers fan bleeding Orange since 1982 16yrs old! l already bought 3 Flyers CCM blank jersey (black alternative, orange road & white home jerseys @$10 each on sale @the mall cause the Flyers sucked last year so they're all on a close-out) & gonna sew Ryan Ellis, Rasmus Ristolainen and Cam Atkinson names, numbers & nameplates on them & all 3 sweaters on each of them will all have a capital letter A for Alternative Captains, when I go to the Sharks hockey store at the Oakland ice skating rink!
