Thanks for addressing that "Team Defense" point! In the end, TEAM BUY IN to play that total 200' game is absolutely needed by good-great teams. The team that executes that should be in the GREAT category assuming the skill is there. Levi has promise for sure, but placing the weight of the team on him would be a huge mistake by management. I think they know that and will have some answer over the summer. Great show as always!
VGK 5v5….like when they swamped the Edmonton MacDavids, they were far better at even strength.
Minus their power play on loan from Starfleet Command, they are pretty average.
Owen Power was fine in his own zone, keep him away from the worst defensive players on the team, Ollofsson and Mittelfat. Bryson should also be waived. Try to lie to me and tell me Casey Mittelfat was a good back checker and in his own zone. Casey was a minus in half the games and the only reason he was an even lower minus is the last month he played a lot with the best players on the team and they carried him.
Levi is a THE key player in the upcoming season. Everybody sees GMKA face light up like a proud father when talking about Levi. I think Levi could easily play 40 games but it depends how the first 20 go.
If he picks up where he left off from last season all will be good. Adams needs a backup plan…UPL and Comrie both showed flashes but Adams needs to be sure. I dont see bringing a name player with a long term contract in. Nobody puts Levi in a corner….the year depends on Levi being a dependable starter.
Owen Power definitely needs a veteran stay at home D partner( Mayfield, Severson , Graves, Dumba or Gudas are all UFA . Gavrikov just resigned with LA today ) Jokiharju Bryson( please trade) or lybushkin didnt do the job last season.
Also more emphasis needs to be placed on TEAM D and improve the PK. Does Adams bring in a new D coach? What about promoting Michael Peca from Rochester to help coach the forward group
You have sold me on the fact that Adams needs to bring in a veteran goalie for next season. Comrie needs to go to Rochester . Trade wise Carter Hart, John Gibson, or Connor Hellebuyck would fit the bill. Varlemnov in NYI is UFA and could be another good choice .
48 games for levi and im hoping for a trade for Carter Hart. Olofsson for Hart,?? as i dont think Philly wants UPL since they just traded for Cal Petersen .

Ideally, I’d like to see Levi play 40+ games. UPL had a winning record with us last year, and I have no problem with him being the back up.. I also don’t mind keeping Comrie around in training camp as insurance. I totally understand why people think we need to bring in a veteran goalie in the off-season, but that can also be risky as goaltending can be very unpredictable.

Joe I love your show and I know you’re on the “Eichel is the new Bob Gainey” bandwagon, but come on, JS has 12 goals in his last 12 games. Eichel has zero in his last 9. You can’t have a Conn Smythe trophy winner who is Stanley Cup highlight is getting run over by #19 at his own blue line.
Id want a vet goalie that's like 30 who can play 3 years at a high level untill Levi is ready to be the one. Then when Levi is the one that goalie we drafted last year can come in and be the 2 and that could be a good tandem for years
