    I trimmed down a few quotes to fit in the title, but essentially LeBrun gives a brief update on what he’s hearing about the Boeser situation:
    – says Brock met with Allvin and rescinded his trade request;
    – Canucks are happy to keep him;
    – no one has called so far, very little activity here;
    – it doesn’t mean he’s no longer in play, Canucks are listening
    – Canucks are looking for a 3C and upgrade on defense

    The real “news” here is mostly about Brock meeting with Allvin and that no one has called so far this offseason. We already knew his agent has been working on facilitating a trade for months

    Personally, I’m glad. I want Boeser to stay and I think he’s fully capable of turning it around and becoming a (close to) elite winger. During the covid season he was a phenomenal two way winger, almost like Mark Stone. I believe.

    Regardless of what happens it’s cool to hear that he wants to be a canuck.

    Hopefully this is an indication that whatever the rumoured problems were in the dressing room or with the “system” are no longer an issue.

    He’s dating a girl from van and has friends here, probably would only be open to a move to Minnesota at this point. Hopefully he figures if he wants to help this team make the playoffs or not. Could use some help around here

    Good. I like Brock. I hope he and his Prince Charming flow stays.

    Any deal where we move him most likely ends in us getting fleeced, so I’m fine with this. If this kid finds his game again and stays healthy, he’s a legit game breaking talent and moving him right now doesn’t get us anything of significant value.

    I’ve been more bullish on Brock than a lot of Canucks fans, but he checks a lot of boxes in terms of what Van needs going into next season.

    Van only had 1 20+ goal scoring winger last year. They traded Bo, and JT is a full-time centre. So it’s not like they don’t need top-6 wingers who can score goals and play on the PP. He’s had chemistry with both Petey & JT, and historically been a solid 2-way/boards guy.

    There are other players I would prioritize moving this offseason.

    So… we’ve learned in the last 24 hours that:

    1. the cost to unload Myers is more than what the Canucks can afford
    2. there is no interest in Boeser on the trade market

    Inching closer to the OEL buyout being their cap space move. It’s the only unilateral move they can that doesn’t require them finding a dance partner on the trade market.

    Hope Alvin said to him “that’s cool, but no more excuses alright? Everyone has problems in their life. Counting on you brother. This is your last chance big dog. Man the f*** up Brock. Look at me. Man up. This is your last shot and I’m not f***ing kidding. Get your ass in gear this off-season. You came into my office saying you want out. Show us you want in.”

    and then stood up and shook his hand.
