What does this have to do with the Habs?
/s
Do it Hughes. He’s big, he’s young, he can score and we need another top 6 centre. He’s the perfect fit. Just think about our top 6 man
– Suzuki
– Caufield
– Dubois
– Dach
– Slafkovsky
– Michkov/Smith/Benson/Leonard
An entire highly skilled top 6 under 25 years old. We’d have a 10 year window if we can figure out our D and Goalie situation in relative short order.
“Isn’t inclined”? Does this mean Dubois is willing to sit is last RFA year out?
The summer is only starting, they have a lot of time to settle this out. M’a le crère quand m’a le voière.
Isn’t it the second time he wants to leave his team?
Unless we get him for very cheap, I don’t know if I’d be willing to put that much on the table.
I’m tired, boss
Pierre-Luc Dubois in an interview last year on Marty St. Louis, who was a coaching consultant for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2019.
> “He gave me back the pleasure of playing. He’s been super good to me. He wanted me not to put too much pressure and have fun. He often reminded me of that. It’s hard not to listen to a guy like that, who’s had an incredible career.”

Mesar, dvorak, floridas 1st, and a young depth dman (norlinder, struble, trudeau) is the most id offer
What do you guys think about Justin Barron going back in a Dubois trade? I think it would be a cool move for Winnipeg to have both Barron’s.
Of course that would only be a part of the deal.
Florida 1st round pick 23
Justin Barron
Christian Dvorak/Jake Evans
Riley Kidney
I do gotta point out Pat Brisson is also Cole’s agent. Kent and Pat are on first name basis right now.
I would offersheet him for cheap. Give low pick for him, then immediately sign him to an extension once he’s on our side.
Seeing a lot of speculation about “character” and “attitude”, people, why would you be guessing about this stuff on limited information.
He doesn’t want to re-sign in Winnipeg, and that’s well within his rights and not a “character” issue, especially given the chaos around the Jets. If anything, he’s doing them a favour telling them now so they can move him out, a La Tkachuk last summer. It ended badly in Columbus, but that’s how it goes with Tortorella, who also chased Panarin and Bobrovsky out of town.
One thing I do know for sure is that DuBois wants to play in Montreal and represent the CH, that’s the only attitude I care about.
They can have Dvorak / Anderson, a prospect outside the top 5-7, and a couple of picks no higher than the 3rd rd otherwise Hughes is an absolute fool to trade for an established player for next season. An absolute fool.
Why do I feel like this guy could be Drouin 2.0?
We really should tread carefully here rather than jump the gun on this guy.
Or hear me out – do nothing, wait a year and see if he really wants to be here by not signing anything longer than a 1 year contract this year.
I’m in as long as Dubois respects the Suzuki salary cap.
Too many red flags, he has the demonstrate humility and actual commitment.
If the trade is around the Florida pick, Dvorak and a prospect not named Xhekaj, Slaf, Roy, Farrell, Hutson or Beck then I’m all for it.
We need to give one of our LD cause right now we have Matheson, Edmunson, Xhakaj, Harris, Guhle and potentially Hutson coming in the future.
I keep Guhle for sure, the rest is negociable.
I love how PLD is basically rewriting the book on how to control your situation as a RFA.
