Injuries hamstring Canadiens’ trade prospects | HI/O Bonus

In this bonus episode, our panelists — former Canadiens defenceman and assistant coach Rick Green, Gazette columnist Stu Cowan and Canadiens podcast host Andrew Berkshire — along with host Moe Khan discuss how the injuries to forward Mike Matheson and defenceman Joel Edmundson will impact their trade value if they don’t return to the lineup soon. They also talk about other Habs who might attract attention ahead of the March 3 NHL trade deadline.

  1. I was very critical of monahan preseason i felt he was a complete wste of time and his skating looked awful. To be fair his skating got better over time but his overall game is just a third or fourth line player so management needs to think if they NEED him around long term as more of a checker because he won't produce on the bottom 6.
EVERY move has to be about the future 2-3 years from now so in case of Drouin will he be capable of playing as a top 6 imo no way not a chance in hell especially if you expect guys like Roy and Farrell and imo Mesar is a decent small hockey player he skates very well and is smart i find more use in Mesar than Drouin.
Funny it seems everyone has laleady forgot about Slavkovsky and for good reason idk if they could even trade him for a second round pick and imo he wouldn't do much in laval either.
If they want to keep him around put him on with some serious skating expert trainers/coaches to help with his quickness he is too slow to get going.

  2. we will see about the trades unlucky MTL with those injuries it is going to affect the plans not getting those players traded?? but we might see some movements but habs fans do not expect very much? better free cap space Monahan would be an important player next season but Monahan being an injured player???? who will take the chance? Edmunson back problem not good 🙁

  3. I really hope they sit tight. I like this team. They need to mature and have a nice stable of talent and some juicy picks coming up this draft.
