According to Pierre LeBrun in his latest article for the Athletic, Brock Boeser requested a meeting with GM Patrik Allvin after the season and told him that he preferred to stay put.
As a Boeser fan, I’m fine with this…especially considering it’s going to be quite difficult to trade him.

If we weren't in cap heck (not full on hell) this Boeser deal isn't even an "off year" or "bad contract"

I dont get where the idea of boeser being a negative asset comes from. Everybody says he had a horrible year and still produced to almost his contract, so why would Vancouver spend MORE to get rid of him? You can move beau and maybe garland for more than enough cap space… I dont get the idea of selling super low on a player that's almost hit 30 goals a few times and in his one bad year while still putting up 50 points we want him gone lol

If he rebounds, we have a sniper with 30 goal potential. He seems like such a good guy. I want to see him excel!!
if he comes back better offensively and defensively and shows how he was in his rookie season, sure
i hope he stays, i think he can put on a better showing this year. i also think he should be put back on a line with petey, they work well together and now that brock is in front net all the time, he fits in on that line better. jmo but i like brock

Absolutely I’ll be very happy he stays!! Brock’s been my favourite since he took that girl to her prom in 2016 .. sure he didn’t have a great couple seasons but give him credit he had a lot on his mind with his dad .. Brock is an amazing player .. I’m happy he’s staying .. he’s gonna show those negative ppl wrong! Let’s go Brock!! 🎉🎉
Keep Boeser! It's good for his development (I expect the 'next step' in his game & personality) and it's good for the Canucks: a strong (key-!)player, good sniper and the fans like him!
