The New York Islanders have some interesting decisions to make this offseason. The NHL Tonight crew discusses what should General Manager Lou Lamoriello should look at over the next couple of months.
1) They need to move out several of the old dinos and bring in some speedy youth (this won't be easy) 2) Barzal needs to find his offensive form, he has 100 point talent, he just needs to produce. Hopefully, a move to the wing can facilitate this.
They also don't seem to have any promising prospects down on the farm. I saw a list of their "top prospects" somewhere a couple of weeks ago, and the best of them seem to be no better than the line NHL'ers or 3rd pair defensemen. That's at best. Most seem to top out at career AHLers. So they stocked Bridgeport for the future, but have nothing coming for the Islanders.
