I think it’s safe to assume a lot of Cats fans who have been with the team since day 1 were kids during that 1996 run and most likely were watching those games on TV at home.
You grew up during the Panthers dark ~~years~~ **decades** but loved your team and the sport and stuck it out. Everyone’s situations are different. Some can’t go, some go as much as they can, and some have grown up to have season tickets.
For a lot us who are able to go down tonight, it is going to be our first ever in-person Stanley Cup Finals game. And it’s here, at home. And it’s our Panthers. Even if you can’t go and you’re watching it on TV, it’s a new day. Throw away games 1 and 2. This is what we have been waiting practically our whole lives to experience. I’m excited for me. 27 years later, I finally get a Stanley Cup Finals run that I will remember.
Regardless of the outcome of this series, it has been an incredible run. We weren’t supposed to be here. This wasn’t supposed to be the start of our Cup runs under Coach Mo. But here we are.
It’s amazing. Savor the moment.
