  1. McDavid is on another planet. I could see Wright having a Tavares like career but the speed isn't there for me to think McDavid level talent.

  2. I feel like people are putting way too much stock in words like generational, franchise, etc etc. They're just words media chuck around to generate hype. Like there's a tier of player that's generational. They're all different so what's the point putting them all in one arbitrary category and giving them all the same value if they're in that category? Anyway welcome to Detroit, Shane.

  3. I have heard a rumor that he has a crazy problem with OCD. To the point where it will effect his NHL career

  4. I would love to know where you have Jonathan Lekerrimakki if I spelled it right. He's shifty, has a quick first step, can create space and make plays. At 5 10 and 157 lbs he's got a lot of room to grow. I think he could be a star.

  5. The hype is over the top he's 5th on his OHL team on scoring, this is junior level so he should be out-scoring every body especially on his team he's 15pts behind his leader on his team, don't get me wrong Great player Will undoubtedly be #1 in the draft just don't see him being Matthews, Mcdavid, Crosby, Kane level see him more as Tavares, Toews, Pettersson, Hischier level – does everything well but to me he isn't Mcdavid or Matthews level no where near atleast offensively. I want him to be elite but so far this season I don't think he's done enough. That's the thing though it seems unfair but when ur the consensus #1 your going to be compared to other #1 picks and so far his time in the OHL he hasn't put up the numbers to suggest he's going to be on the same level as Kane, Mcdavid. I wish him the best but so far I feel he hasn't done enough in the WJC so far 2 games in 1 assist in games where Canada has scored 17 goals. Maybe he's suffering coz of missing a yr, but he made a decision not to go u can't tell me no European team would of taken him, a lot of the players who went to Europe have looked better for having that experience of playing against Men. Brad lambert on the other hand is dominating in WJC, maybe Lambert isn't as good all-round player but 2 me he's better in skating, and passing and i think offensively more dynamic plus may become the steal of the draft.

  6. So… the consensus is Wright won't be on the same level as McDavid. That's cool, people can keep their chips out. I'm going all in by saying, yes, he will surpass McDavid in greatness. Time will tell who's right.

  7. And then there is Bedard who is a year younger but has 4 goals, 1 Assisst in the world juniors so far compared to Wrights 1 Assisst. Going to be very interesting to follow these two. Hopefully they are better 1st overalls than Hughes and Lafreniere.

  8. I'm not sold. He's slow and didn't look like anything special in the WJC games I saw.

  9. Was literally non existent in the wjc actually forgot he was even on the squad

  10. It seems more likely that Wright will not meet the hype expectations than meet them. He claims to model his game after Patrice Bergeron, which I think is very fitting. He may be a future multi-year Selke winner and be the most integral player to their team from this draft class, but I’d be willing to bet large sums of money that there will be at least one player from this draft class who will outpace him in point scoring on a yearly basis

  11. He's gonna be a great player from the few highlights I've seen. Go Habs Go 👌

If he becomes a point per game or maybe above that player, perfect. Not every player needs to be a McDavid, Crosby or Ovechkin to be a star player to win the Cup.

  12. Suzuki must be the happiest guy in the world now. He can be the No 2 guy. Next year's tank, draft best D man. Hopefully top 5 pick. Fix goalie situation, hopefully by UFA signing. And the rebuild is complete.
