  1. This is the biggest trade of 2022 and involved a Quebecois, proud of that tbh (because I'm a Quebecois myself), and I think this is a good one for the Flames. The Flames absolutely made a better deal in getting Huberdeau AND a first to second pair defenseman who can play offense on the Power Play!

  2. Not really a huge win for Calgary. There is a 5 year age difference. But considering what else they got, it’s a win.

  3. I grew up in Edmonton, absolutely loved the city and the people. But i agree, Calgary is a beautiful city and I don't understand when people say "who tf wants to live in Calgary" when Columbus fans say it it's actually quite ironic lmfao.

  4. Huberdeau has really come into his own in the last few years and can effectively carry a line. Tkachuk is skilled, gritty, and has good hockey IQ, but not a great skater. Tkachuk has also been riding shotgun with Johnny and Lindholm.

Maybe this trade can be a win-win but Tkachuk is slightly overrated. However, with Barkov, that duo can be lethal

  5. I take back my Brad Treliving slander. He’s amazing at trades. Horrible with contracts.

  6. 29 UFA + 28 UFA vs 24 8 year extension and you think it is good for Calgary? Tkachuk is a franchise player and Huberdeau will be either flipped or they will lose him for nothing. I doubt Huberdeau is thrilled about the trade, but Tkachuk is.

  7. Huberdeau had 1 goal and 4 assist in 10 playoff games this year’s playoffs. He is a no show the past 2 playoffs. Trust me, Huberdeau lost is not as big as you think. He’s nonexistent in the playoffs.

  8. Calgary wins big until the end of the season when Huberdeau and Weegar will be UFA and leave….gave up a lot but will retain nothing…. Huderdeau will be in Montreal next season as he wants to go home

  9. Both Huberdeau and Weegar will be 30 years old in the 1st year of their next contracts. Those types of contracts almost always turn out bad. This deal is not nearly as good for Calgary as people think.

  10. Why not adopt the Flames as your team if it's the better city? They don't hire the likes of Evander Kane. Oilers are run by buffoons that pay no mind to defence or goaltending.
