I like Mayfield and he does deserve a raise,but at 4 Mill. Not so sure.
One is useless. One was good 10 years ago. One will only take market value. And one should have been peddled at the tdl for needed picks. I'll let you decide which is which. In semi related isle news one time isle (farmhand) 43 goal scorer c Verhage scores another playoff ot goal-his fourth of career-to keep cats alive. Lou you really suck and couldn't evaluate a common cold in a kid. A 43 goal scorer in his prime would look good up front instead of lou's old slow ass useless overpaid 15-18 goal scorers. Now go give pierre 5.5 x 8.

I wouldn't pay Varly 3 mill AAV. If he wouldn't take 2-2.5, I'd look elsewhere.
If Engvall doesn't accept 3 mill/season, I'd let him walk. We do need his speed.
I'd offer Mayfield 4 mill per.
But what are the options for Bailey? I don't like the idea of giving up prospects/picks to get rid of him. Maybe bury him in the minors like they did with Ladd.
Gil, Would you trade Lee and his 8 mil salary? (would any team want him at that price}, with that and Baily's buy out, it would suddenly give the Isles 15 mil to play with…Seems he is in the dog house with most anyway (Lee)….. who replaces him on the top line?….Love the idea of Bailey retiring and taking a coaching position, especially if the Isles get his full cap number in relief….that would be a serious GM move, don't know if Lou still has the magic…Go Islanders!!!

We are one of the worst teams in eastern conference definitely in metropolitan division, and we traying to sign our guys…why we need Varlamov ?(good golie) are we Stanley cup contender?we cant aford him. in trading deadline we have chance to got something for him but 81 year old head don't got it..we have to think how to got this guys from our payroll start rebuilding becouse this group of guys show you their capacity … we full our self accidently making playofs this year …signing this old guys you pushing your organization backwards….let them gooooo……if anybody want them 😞

Famous quote "we lose with them…..we'll lose without them" at this point the end result is already cemented. So what exactly are we saving? Old players. Players not playing up to their contracts. Injured players. What's the difference when you have decided to basically throw the season anyway. If your not trying to better the teams chances in every way possible,then you get failure.

Ok, there’s no way I’m signing Mayfield for 4 mil a year, he’s a 3D guy, blocks some shots and takes stupid penalties and pleads innocence, he can sell his house and go for that 4mil. Zach, if anyone deserved a raise it’s Zach but he’s not greedy and is making the big $$ off the Wild contract, I’d also take the “C” from Lee and give it to Zach even if it’s his last season, the man is class, desire and plays every shift with 💯 of what he has. Onto the missing Capt, Lee would be outta here, I couldn’t care less what he’s done for the community, he’s being overpaid to play hockey at a high rate and doesn’t do it, bye Anders !
