Nico Hischier takes out Igor Shesterkin – Have your say!

Nico Hischier went down and took Igor Shesterkin with him. The only penalty on the play was to K’Andre Miller for roughing on Hischier after the collision. Did the officials get it right? Have your say!

  1. This happened a few times where Igor came out into contact. I think it’s clean and I don’t know why play was stopped before the goal. Igor clearly just laid there to get okay to stop instead of hustling back to the empty net, but they called roughing on Miller… but I still don’t get the whistle.

  2. Clearly going for the puck and lost his footing. If the goalie doesn’t want to get hit he should stay in the crease.

  3. late decision to come out indeed, but thats something u can ground and pound hischier for. ur goalie is kinda sacred and hes not close to getting the puck and goes down with intent. thats my opinion from what i see…

  4. 😄"Tough" call? Hischier lost his edge on his blades, he's passenger at that point. At 0:17 he is literally putting everything so he can turn and stop. There's absolutely nothing he can do. Nothing to call there. And Miller is total idiot taking useless roughing penalty. "oh my goaltender was accidentally touched, I should probably look like I'm useful and go rough him up or something"

  5. Hischier is clearly trying to stop prior to contact, loses his edges. Doesn't help with Miller putting his hand on his back, nor with Igor that far out of the net.

Ranger fans looking for excuses should look elsewhere. Your over-hyped, over-aged, over-paid, low-energy, front-running team got out-played by a younger team that can skate circles around the Rangers and utilize a higher level of skill. And let's not forget what Akira Schmid did. Fantastic performance.

  6. That's 100% on the goalie. You can't expect Hischier (who is full speed ahead) to avoid that. Igor is venturing out into skater territory. Hischier has every right to that puck.

  7. Whistle should not have blown until the rangers touched the puck, which they didn’t. Goal should have counted.

  8. Did this get called as anything? Cause I see a race for puck control, and a goalie that probably shouldn't be there. No call here. He's even trying to stop prior to contact.

  9. Nico should have received a penalty for that, no contact to cause him to fall by the defensemen. Goalies should stay in net as there tends to be more misplays when they do come out.

  10. No reason to play the puck there Igor he couldn’t make up his mind and came out to play it waaaaay to late

  11. Goalie playing the puck in the circle is open game. Play continues until the next natural storage.

  12. Goalie played the puck outside of the crease and took a hit… that's hockey. Silliness is calling a roughing penalty on Miller. Ridiculous!

  13. Nico’s going for the puck in a straight line. Goalies rule their crease, but not the entire ice surface.
