Wow, that’s pretty big news if true.

I don’t know what a package looks like with Boston’s 1st but we should pull the trigger I think.

I’m usually wery but I think you know what your getting here a year to year 30 goal scorer potential 40 70 point winger.

If you don’t think some of our prospects can be that or even our 2nds In this draft which idk if I’m ok with trading picks in this draft seeing how deep it is.

I do hope we do it though seems very low maintenance keeps to himself no serious injury history. His cap hit will be something yzerman would have to make sure it fits his plan though. We all know the term he’s getting 7 years.

    Let’s see here wings fans

I don’t care about the circumstances. If you can get a 25 year old multi time 40 goal scorer, you get him.

I feel like Larkin and The Cat would be a killer duo.

I’m a little hesitant about him, especially what his qualifying offer would be. He hasn’t proven anything without a HOF playmaker next to him. Detroit doesn’t have any of those to pair with him

I hope Yzerman doesn’t get him. He’s not up to Stevie’s high standards IMO.

I’m officially on the train. Get it done. We shouldn’t have to give up a crazy amount too

  8. Ohhellnowhatsupdawg

If he wants to play in Detroit, then we should absolutely get him. We desperately need offensive firepower and he’s a proven force who’s not even in his prime yet.

Ok, so he’s a bit small for my liking… but yeah, let’s not overthink this. The guy is in the early-mid stages of a career as a serious scorer, and if he wants to come here, why wouldn’t we want that? We’re not in a position to be looking down at a player like him, especially with an extra 1st in our pockets to trade. His is the type of production you’d want to draft in the mid first round anyways; I’m always for trading a pick for a young player who’s already been shown to be what you’d hope to get out of the pick in the first place.

Nothing against Raymond but surely he gets bumped down to the second line right? I know it was a sophomore slump, but I can’t see Lalonde sticking DeBrincat on the 2nd line, especially considering what it’ll cost to get him.

Either 17 or the BOS pick, Kubalik, and a 2nd/3rd I hope. No Berggren, Rasmussen, Söderblom, Mazur, Wallinder, or Johansson please.

Obviously 9, Kasper, Edvinsson, and Cossa should be off the table.

It has always been funny to me how Canadians pronounce Detroit. Detroyet

If it means give up 9OA you give up 9OA

I’d love Moore, Dvorsky, Leonard…etc but for a team that desperately needs to start scoring goals and to not waste the rest of Larkins 20s we have a chance to land that 30+ goal scoring threat we’ve lacked since Marian Hossa nearly 15 years ago

Sure Leonard could turn out better than ADB but he could also be another Ras or even Zadina, high picks don’t immediately equal superstar

We have a chance to land a star and we should take it

  15. Wakattack00

I’m all for brining in Debrincat as long as we keep 3 of our top 5 picks in this draft and don’t have to pay him more than Larkin. Do what Montreal is doing with Suzuki. Larkin is our captain, nobody makes more than him.

  16. SpiritBamba

Remember they said this same thing about werenski. I’m optimistic but cautiously, and frankly I’m not interested in sending high picks for him. I think ottawa is in a bad spot and doesn’t have much leverage. Yzerman should be able to get him without giving up much. We should send a roster player or two the other way because we need to clear out some wingers.

  17. PineconeNugget

I love this but I really really don’t want to lose our 9OA because I really want to move up in the draft too

  18. Problemwoodchuck

I’m curious what the price tag might be. Ottawa could end up selling low.
