I agree the Zub contract seems a bit high, but he was a pending UFA. It's about $300,000 more per season than Mattias Samuelsson's extension he received earlier this year. If Zub is as important to Ottawa as Samuelsson is to Buffalo, it makes sense to spend that much to keep him around.

Josh Morissey continues to be the most underatted player in the game, whenever you see him play your team you forget that he does everything out there

If Canucks use a draft pick to move Myers this season I will give up on this management team. Move him after July 1 next year. He will be on his last year of his contract. He has a 5 million dollar signing bonus, meaning a team like Arizona or Chicago only have to pay him a million in real dollars next year
Hughes is a good defenseman, but I don't think is the best defense they have never had over the years.

I'm a lifelong Ottawa fan and I'm a fan of Artem Zub, that seems high to me
Excellent news about Zub. Really considering that Zub jersey now that he's locked up for at least four years.
The term and dollar amount for Zub is definitely worth the risk. Simple, defensive defenseman whose a right handed shot. He's not around for his numbers he's here for his calming defensive play. A top 4 defenseman worth this amount. Now PD needs to sign another top 4 to put the D core over the top.
What a bunch of bullshit, the Jets they suck they are entirely dependent on their goalie, everything revolves around him, without Hellybuyck, all they'd have is Dubois, Scheifele, Connor, Morrisey and a deep roster. Can't win a cup with 3 elite forwards, a norris candidate, and the best collection of waiver claims in the league.
Morissey is pretty amazing this year, when it comes to the highlight reels he just stands out head & tails above the rest much like a Josi or a dare I say it, Makar & Fox ,but only tighter & tougher on his defensive aspect, I would definitely expect him to get a broader look come Norris time.
"Underrated" as a term is massively overused.
