  1. If the series doesn't start until someone loses at home, what happens in a seven game series where every win is at home? Does the cup just not get awarded because the series never actually started?

  2. Vegas is playing like we all thought Boston would play, like a machine that steamroles teams.

  3. Its either gonna be an insane Matthew tkclutch carry of the panthers or its gonna be Jack Eichel with the Stanleycup GWG for all the Eichetower haters

  4. Florida ran over everyone until they faced Vegas where they ran into penalty issues. Sounds about right.

  5. Sorry Steve, but it's not really a series unless they win game 4. If they lose game 4, they're down 3-1, with a rather slim chance of besting a Vegas team that has been noticeably better than the Panthers. Of course, the better team doesn't always win, but unless Bobrovsky absolutely stands on his head for the remaining games, I think it's more than likely Vegas takes the cup.

  6. Saw the stat this morning, that the Panthers are now 7-0 in the 2023 playoffs when the game goes to OT.

  7. Knights will die on their own sword. Collapsing on defense is enough to win the first two but not the series. 😂

  8. Hey i subscribed when we played the leafs, sorry about your team but it was nice to see this. We holding on, Vegas is damn good but so are the bruins leafs and canes, never give up!

  9. The entire hocky community and every analyst is trying to figure this out and how Vegas has gotten through Bob, and honestly? I dont think this is analyz-able. The Panthers are a miracle team that fuels itself on "fuck yous" and laughing about how awful (or amazing) things are in equal measure.

Every team they have faced to this point especially the Knights) has been a far superior team, but Florida just kinda goes "that's nice, imma ignore reality".

There is no rhyme or reason to this playoff run, they will either win or they won't, but trying to analyze it is pointless because honestly, something like this will probably never happen in hockey again during any of our lifetimes. Vegas is a machine, and Florida is the bullshit that somehow works that kids high on sugar come up with, and I, for one, love it.

Also, I hope you all have a great day, sorry for the soapbox, procrastinating is fun.

  10. Steve you havve lost my attention . Good luck with out Sportsnet, now it is tme to slip into the ether with all of us duffering Leaf fans.

  11. I'm glad you called yourself out for whiffing on the calls not getting made anymore. Dumb you're doubling down on it, but you enjoy being wrong.

  12. Yeah Momentum has shifted to The Cats they could still win it the odds arent astronomically impossible

  13. 3". That's what Paul said was the difference in the first 2 games. It's the difference between post and in, post and out. A block or a tip. Between the Leafs or Canes or Panthers being where they are. Every hit doesn't have to rattle the glass and I think Florida was trying to make every hit a big hit, took a lot out of them and took them out of their game. After he came back from being clocked Tkachuk was pretty quiet in that respect but he was always there, always around the puck. Vegas didn't get the puck up on several glorious chances. Coulda' gone either way. Should be a good series going forward. Cheers

  14. No one complained at all when Florida got a power play against Carolina with under a minute left in Game 4. But now Florida was hard done by the refs? C'mon Steve that's baloney

  15. The panthers strategy of asking their goaltender to turn into an alien while their offense squeaks out one goal wins in overtime will not work consistently.

  16. it's a weird thing for the panthers…they were taught for 3 rounds there basically are no rules, injure guys, whatever….and now in the final the refs pulled the string on em and it goes back to being a hockey contest lmao.

  17. I’ve never seen a bigger overreaction among media to a game where a team gets dominated. Analytics suggest the Knights win that game 75% of the time. The Panthers still need to get it going.

  18. It's gotten worse. As in it's more….childish now. The most idiotic things are being called. Powerplays in OT in the playoffs? Not one…but multiple. Ya. It's worse.

  19. Jonathan Marchessault is becoming the Alex Ovechkin of Las Vegas on the power play. “Pay no attention to the man standing alone over there, he’s no danger.”

  20. Hey Steve, go back and watch your Michael Grabner trade video. Your take was that the Leafs traded 5 Marlies players for Michael Grabner. Carter Verhaeghe has entered the chat! The Leafs traded a kid who has become a 40+ goal scorer in the NHL, and has a finals OT game winning goal on his resume! He also got a ring with Tampa. Safe to say that trade looks a lot worse now than it did back then.

  21. officaiting in the NHL has always been bad. The favoritism wasn't noticed as much before because we mostly watched our own teams only. Now you have more people watching highlights and even full games saying to themselves, well that's BS. Its the mix of no calls when a penalty should be called and the phantom calls when there shouldn't be a call. I think there should be a new rule called the Panthers Penalty rule. Since they always suck on the power play and can't ever stop the other team from scoring on the penalty kill, they should be able to defer their penalties for them to nullify a penalty called against them. Example, Barkov gets tripped, whitecloud stays on the ice. Panthers say hey lets keep this in our back pocket because we have no power play and no penalty kill but we are really good on 5 on 5. Then Tkachuk gets called for looking too hard at anyone, they can cancel each other out. Better then wasting 2 minutes to passing the puck around the outside and then taking 10 shots 5 feet wide of the net.

  22. If panthers had to take it to overtime to win whole Vegas was playing horribly then the series is not in floridas favor.

  23. I will give Brandon Montour a bit of a break, as he and his wife just had a baby between Game 1 and 2. He's probably a bit distracted.

  24. Weren’t a lot of Tkachuk penalties right at the end of the game? Most of those PIMs weren’t actually served

  25. I met Verhaeghe at Lightning Fan Fest before the pandemic and the guy was a class act. Always had a look of determination even when off the ice. Hated to see him go, but glad to see him exceling.
