Trade him asap.
Buyout is only $680K this yr and $2M next yr. If it costs anything more than a late round pick to trade him just buy him out. Woll is less than $800K and Samsonov should be less than $4M to resign. Even with the buyout, you're saving at least $1M on your goalies over last yr.
Should’ve sent him with dubus he hired him.
Trade Murray for anything .the cap will be at 19.5 .The Leafs have alot of money to play with this off-season
This year's buyout period ends June 30th while the amateur draft takes place on June 28th and 29th. The significance of these dates is that any trade that might take the Matt Murray contract off of the Leafs' hands could happen on the draft floor.
Use last year's disposal of the Petr Mrazek contract as an example. The Leafs still landed a decent prospect in Fraser Minten by dropping eight spots in the draft. A similar scenario could take place but if it doesn't, plan B in buying Murray out is still an option.
They NEED to get rid of that dead weight ASAP
Put Matt Murray out to pasture along with Gary Bettman Larry Tanenbaum and the Leafs don't give a damn corporate owners!
From the Leafs Organization – why do they not appoint an interim GM? {Maybe even Dubas’s old boss Brendon Shanahan.} Contracts can be renegotiated-maybe they should try that with Murray’s contract? With Dubas’s conflict of interest issues-how many player contracts are impacted, if any?
Murray is not a problem at all. Wait till Dubas gets the Penguins job and trade him to the Pens.
