  1. David is not a defensive defenseman by any means. Whoever expects him to dominate defensively á la Seider is going to be dissapointed. In fact, his defensive game is an area he needs to improve the most, especially in terms of D-zone positioning and 1 on 1 play. He can definitely improve it, he's already got some great defensive tools, but he's never gonna be that Seider-type shutdown Dman IMO. You draft this guy primarily for his offesive prowess. The way he thinks the game is all about attacking the oppositions net. No matter where he's on the ice, when he gets the puck, his first instinct his to attack. One of the best shots in the draft, great passing and very impresive hands for a D. Best offensive potential out of all defensemen in this draft IMO. Regarding his size… yes he's a tall guy with long legs but he's actually pretty lanky. He isn't going to outmuscle any NHL players as of now. Skating-wise he's got very good 4-way mobility for his size, although I agree his skating style is sort of choppy and inefficient. Big room for improvement in that regard. Definitely needs a season or two to get stronger and further refine his game, before jumping into the NHL.
