    Iam glad this deal is done so that Habs fans can stop obsessing about it daily. Iam a huge Habs fan and I knew through common sense that good old #22 wasn't going anywhere. Signing a player to a deal isn't like going to buy a car. These things take time. However so many fans were in absolute panic that perhaps Cole was going to get offer sheeted. Now they can relax and I will be far less annoyed lol!!

    Cole was on pace to have a 40+ goal season which is pretty good and around .8 pts per game which is about 73 points.His minus would have been around -15 /-16.
    IDK if we can say he earned that much money especially since he is a small perimeter player.If he can carry a PLUS 20 or so then it's looks better.

    Nick actually played the full season 26-40=66 pts and a minus 13.
    So there is something to factor in Cole got to play all his games with Nick but Nick had to play without Cole in many of his games otherwise Nick likely matches Cole's avg pts per season.

    Personally if I am paying two guys 7.7 mil they need to do SOMETHING over the top and both are small perimeter players.Neither have big point production not for first line PP players we need to see closer to 80+.and both carrying around a plus 20.

    So there is another factor Matheson was hurt as well but in reality Nick's numbers were no better with Matheson in the lineup so perhaps a non factor.Then we have a common player early season in DACH too many people high fiving him but if he is "good enough"then there is no excuse for Nick and Cole's pt production.Personaly Dach is NOT good enough not even close to being a legit first line player imo barely a second line player.

    So if we feel the NEED to be positive then we HOPE Nick and Cole can get a real legit first line player to vault their numbers up to where they need to be.We also hope Matheson stays healthy and just MAYBE "not likely" Guhle can improve to be a legit first line D man his plus minus definitely needs to get better and should.

    Unnecessary knock on Tony and you are also wrong. If you ever listen to him regularly, he is rarely wrong on these rumours. Say whatever you will on his style but he is not one to count his chickens before they hatch.

    Hahahahahaha. Worst contract in professional sports history. The guy has scored 80 points and played 120 games over 3 years….Mind boggling!! This guy wont play 500 games in this league. 10 assists last year!! Hahahahahahahaha. Montreal wont see the playoffs in a decade.

    Other top players from 2019 draft class that Caufield came from had similar contracts (examples include Jack Hughes, Dylan Cozens, Matt Boldy). Everything about this contract is as it should be.

    As long as Caufield can avoid major injuries this will be an excellent deal. Tony was right about the Slafkovsky pick at last year's draft too, and Carey Price playing his last game and Shea Webber retiring. He definitely has connections in the organization.

    Another point is that Cole put up 48 goals in 81 games under St Louis so far. He is a special player.

    Excited about this deal…. CC brings a lot of positive energy which is awesome for overall team chemistry… We have some great young players developing here, including a young tender in Montembault, We have the best coach in the NHL for teaching the youth,,, IS # 25 COMING???? If we show a little patience to get the right pieces to fit around our young core to help develop them,,,, I THINK SO!!!!! Vivre Les Habitants!

    Now this is how to build a Stanley Cup competing team. Bravo to all involved. Hometown discounts by team first players in order to build a winner. Great player management and drafting. How not to build a winner? Overpaid prima donna me first individuals. Cole and Suzi for the same price as Matthews (on his upcoming new deal). Yes please. Leafs fans are not gonna be happy. Will Dubois still want to come to MTL knowing that he will NOT make more than Suzi or Cole?
