Today we’re talking the New York Rangers, and how they recently got swept by the Carolina Hurricanes in their 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs qualifying play-in series. They are the first team to reserve a 1/8 shot at drafting Alexis Lafrenière at the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, but there’s more to their story than just that.

We’re referring to their legendary starting goaltender, Henrik Lundqvist, and his future here; as the elimination of the Rangers could potentially be the signal of a new future for the 38-year-old netminder, who happens to have one year left on an $8-million contract. Have we seen the last of King Hank in New York?

  1. Could you live stream pens vs Montreal
    Great Video
I really hope Lundquist gets a cup before he goes to the hall of fame
    Love the channel ❤️👍

  2. Cya Old man… one of best to not touch the cup… don't need any of your hair gel on the cup…. don't let the door hit you the way out…

  3. Rangers might get stuck with that contract ..Teams are struggling with their own cap space..They will need to add sweeters to get teams to bite ..So who do they give up hmmm

  4. He was working out and doing shooting drills with Lucas Raymond a few months ago in Sweden to stay in shape.

He said Lucas has great talent.

  5. An era might be over I hate Lundqvist cuz I’m a habs fan and they beat the Habs multiple times in the playoffs but it sad to think that all the guys like the Sedins retired Loungo retired and others 😢
But a new era is here a speedy fast game
Where people like Lucic aren’t good because they play a physical game and power their way to win and score while now they get skated around in circles because there not fast

  6. Shesterkin wasn't any better, allowed 4 goals ha. Rangers just couldn't stop the Canes and now Canes show they have a two goalies who can dominate. A rest in Mrazek was best, expect him to start when best of 7 starts. I wouldn't strain my goalie back to back. I still feel Canes in the East final vs hmm I like Oilers but their D sucks and goalie has issues. The Avs look strong

  7. A trade with the kings might be possible if the rangers put their 1st rounder for this year or next year. Kings have a lot of cap space and no big raises in salary (most of their prospects are still in their ELCs), so they could take henrik's contract. He wouldn't play though, no way he plays instead of Quick or Petersen.

  8. I hope to see Lundquist sign with SJ since Aaron Dell is going to be a free agent, and Lundquist can mentor Jones since he hasn’t been good for the last couple years

  9. He maybe go back home to Sweden to Frolunda HC play last game there

  10. Trade: ludquist to the wings taking on all his salary plus either their first or Anderson (who wants out of new York anyways) for red wings 2nd (their own 2nd) and a Rasmussen

  11. I don’t think its Henrik Lundqvist is retiring i think he might be traded but you never know until next season

  12. As a Rangers fan. Rangers need to add a top 4 left handed D man to play with Trouba and add a gritty bottom 6 forwards that actually win battles and get to the net. The talent is obviously there with Breadman, Mika, Kakko, Kreider, Fox etc. They’re not far from contention

  13. I have a feeling Hank would retire before he puts on a different jersey, he was the spine of the team for probably 10 years and his jersey deserves to be up in the rafters, with eddies, and richter’s
