  1. What a horrific hit!!!! R.J should be arrested and Air Canada and Via Rail should take away their sponsorships because of this…… But seriously, Chara should have got 1 or 2 games(tops) then that would make everyone content, even so without a suspension is NO REASON for everyone to overreact to it, Thanks Media for magnifying and replaying it 1000 times…. not.

  2. Hope he's ok. Umberger has to watch out for the cops up in Montreal i'm sure the 911 calls came in up in by the thousands up there!

  3. This is not the same as the Pacioretty hit. This was a legal hockey play. Doughty had the puck whereas Pacioretty did not have it when he was hit. This is more understandable as a hockey play. It does show that they should make that part of the rink safer though.

  4. @adg2142 didn't hit his nose on the turnbuckle.. and he went out the next shift so not like he was dying. remember the last vancouver game where he dove every 5 minutes? cost his team a goal and a loss by diving into the crease.

  5. @fmcnamee I partially agree, it's clean because there is no interference, but Umberger makes contact with Doughty and waits until he's aligned with the turnbuckle to push off, when he could have easily completed the check the moment they made contact, dirty, but at least he didn't try to drive his head into it…it probably would have been nicer had he finished the check right away, Doughty would've flew into Columbus's bench, he took away a highlight check and made it into smthn worse.

  6. @dann203 That's a fair assessment I'd say. You are right in saying he could have finished the check earlier. Perhaps this is where the question of respect between players comes into play.

  7. @londonpythons716 only if a guy purposefully tries to injure a guy with a turnbuckle hit, and it would be obvious, a nother reason you don't need to penalize turnbuckle hits

  8. All they have to do is put a piece of rounded glass there but changing anything with the league takes governors meetings and GM meetings and consultations and German scientists with charts and graphs studying the problem in top secret laboratories for consecutive years, just change out the friggin glass. China will have 2000 of them ready by next week for a buck fifty.

  9. @KillEmAll83 umm actually sedin pushed him into quick he didnt dive into his own goalie, and he got elbowed in the same game and went down for maybe 30 seconds its easy to say you don't watch alot of kings hockey

  10. Oh my god! Everyone call the cops, the goverment and the sponsers! That was illeagal! He could of hurt the best player of all time! Call the cops, tell your mom! That is so dirty I am sick! AAGGHH! Why isn't he suspended! Give him five years!! AAGGHH! Call the cops someone please! I'm from Montreal yay!

  11. players need to be able to police them selfs back then that would been a stick to head right after

  12. Doughty embellished that quite abit. The guy is dirty player to begin with, was nice seeing him get a taste of his own medicine. Ironic that shortly after this game he backed off on cross-checking people from behind so much.
