Malkin left Friday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres with what appeared to be a right leg injury after a second-period collision with Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers.
Malkin got tied up racing for a loose puck in the corner with Myers in the first few seconds of the period. Myers, a 6-foot-8 defenseman, appeared to fall on Malkin’s right leg, which crumpled underneath him. Malkin remained on the ice for some time, then skated off to the dressing room with some assistance.

As the clip shows, Myers clearly fell on top of Malkins knee, therefore ending his season. This is unsportsmanlike conduct. To summarize, to avoid this sort of negligent behavior, the department of player safety has decided to suspend Myers for this season and the next season. As some might call the suspension harsh, I call it completely fair, and not as an understatement. I'm Brendan shanahan, call it like I see it, and I drop the puck.

As much as I despise Malkin and the rest of that team, it sucks to see someone take an injury like that. It's good to see that he was able to come back from it
i wish for the penguins to fail, simply becuase they think they can rent a team and win a cup, but i wouldnt want a player to get injured.

That is exactly why you guys won the cup back then. you had a solid core of guys with good chemistry and enough depth to keep the goal against down. the reason you were swept by the bruins was becuase you had no chemistry, and no depth. you guys will not miss the playoffs as long as crosby is healthy, but you need a better core if you want a cup.
