  1. I would love if we moved up to pick up
Leo Carlsson. If not then i can see Leonard and hopefully make a trade to pick up Barlow as well. That would give us two wolves on the forecheck.

  2. Im with Shayne on the mitchkov train. I have massive fomo on a russian generational talent.

  3. Thanks for this video guys. It’s relieving my Mishkov FOMO to know they’re are a few others who can be helpful to the team. And I’m glad the D-man seems less likely to be picked.

  4. Ok guys, you got the floor and you got the ceiling but for God's sake do you have the walls??? heheheee. 🤣🤣 Great show. Exciting times ahead. GHG

  5. They can't go wrong with Leonard awesome pick.. Hab fans should be elated.. Hes a better skater then Smith anyway,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, And a better shot

  6. As a leafs who doesnt want the habs to be good at all, i dont want them to take michkov. As a hockey fan who loves this young team and its future, they really need to take michkov. in 3 years, they will be good, and get a dynamic 80 point player on a elc for 3 years, who will get to 100 points the next year. This also helps them be bad next year, where they will get another good pick. Michkov is the pick 100% not a question. What sickens me is Carlsson should not go over will smith, columbus should take smith, san jose should take michkov. But idk, ill never understand why columbus thinks leo is the better pick because hes ready now, he doesnt, absolutely doesnt have more potential. Columbus taking carlsson hands montreal a very high or high potential player, so be real damn happy if they take him

  7. It's only 2 year. 23-24 24-25. He will play in the NHL in 25-26. That's two full seasons in Russia, you say 3. Point proven, you can't count.

  8. Congratulations Shayne on your new role.

My worry is that Michkov may end up being picked early.

  9. Bedard goes 1st, it's a toss up between Fantilli and Michkov for 2nd and 3rd. Smith goes 4th to Sharks and Habs get Carlsson. Most likely senerio.

  10. Gentlemen, hi Drew, I enjoy your show, and hi Shayne, congrats on your Sick invitation.
I just want to say, if Habs have a chance to get Michkov, and Kent Hughes chooses to go with Leonard, or Benson instead, I would prefer a group deal with either Arizona, Philadelphia, Detroit or
St. Louis. I propose a package of Montreal's #5, #31, and #37 picks for Coyotes 6th and 12th picks, looking to get Leonard AND Reinbacher/or Pellika. The Habs could package #5 and #37 for Flyers 7th and 22nd picks with a chance of getting Benson and maybe a Perrault or a RD. Habs could put together a proposal of #5 and #31 for Red wings 9th and 17th picks, aiming for Dvorsky and maybe Reinbacher if he falls. The Blues , with #10, #25 and #29 is a possibility with Habs giving up 5th, 37th and third round picks, going for either Cristall, Sale, or Yager, and then going for a RD and Gauthier. Montreal is left with choices like Musty or even a goaltender like Hrabal.
I'd much prefer getting Michkov, a generational talent on par with Ovechkin, but if the Habs are determined to play it safe, then offer the best package in exchange. Do not settle for a 6th pick and pass up Michkov. That would be ludicrous. My personal choice would be to choose Michkov if #5 is available, and with #31 you grab RD Dragicevic and the giant goalie Hrabal and call it a great day!

  11. I don’t like when people try to justify Reinbacher

    “(negative negative negative)
BUT HE’S STILL A GREAT PLAYER“
    or
“BUT HE’S STILL THE BEST DEFENCEMAN IN THE DRAFT”

Yall… he’s not the best defenceman in this draft.

    He’s not even Top3.

    Dmitri SIMASHEV !!!!!
is the best defenceman of this draft.

    and Sandin-Pellikka & even
Tom Willander are better than Reinbacher.

Reinbacher reminds me of a mix between
    Phillip Broberg & Griffin Reinhart.

  12. Honestly if we pass on Michkov to pick Reinbacher it would be a joke…regardless of the noise and political BS.

  13. I wouldn't mind drafting Michkov even if he ends up not playing in the NHL, this is a risk we can afford to take. We have a very good prospect pool and adding Michkov in 3 years would be the cherry on top. We don't often have a chance of drafting a true superstar in the making please do not miss this chance HuGo please

  14. Saying you can't blame KH for trying to hit a home run and failing by drafting MM is such a rediculous take. You absolutely blame him. This is a #5 pick in a potentially generational draft class. The Habs can absolutely not swing and miss at 5. It would be inexcusable and further the organization's image of poor drafting in round 1. Again, such a bad take. If they take MM at 5 they must be 110% positive he is coming to MTL in 3 years.

  15. the ONLY possibly valid argument
    for : not taking him…

    would be :

    If you think that
    PUTIN
would not let him leave Russia.

    Which to me is ABSURD
    because :

Romanov was in Russia last summer.
He was able to come back in North America.

Provorov was in Russia last summer.
He was able to come back in North America.

Dadonov was in Russia last summer.
He was able to come back in North America.

    Soooo…

Why would it be okay for THESE GUYS …???

    and NOTTTTT
    Michkov ???

    The whole thing is ridiculous.

  16. "If he was born Matthew Mitchell from Britsh Columbia…"

Holycrist. And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.
Get this idiot youngster away from the microphone!

  17. Habs should draft Dvorsky, and I think they will. He is a bit younger than Smith, but seems like a man compared the American kid.

  18. I think Ryan Leonard's potential is 30-35 goals 70-75 point season. His strength will be in the playoffs.

  19. The guy is talking about a player and doesn't even know what handedness he is. Fucking watch a game.

  20. we can say all we want about the situation in russia and the khl right now but nobody has any idea what its gonna be like in 3 years

  21. Excellent update guys. Thank you as always. Your discussion motivated me to check out a couple of the Michkov highlight videos on YouTube. He is an absolutely exceptional talent! Wow!

  22. Ryan’s Leonard = Brayden Point
    Will Smith = Jack Hughes
Matvei Michkov = Kaprizov (on goal scoring steroids)

If all 3 hit there max potential they could all be 90-110 point players… Will Smith and Michkov could touch 110 points in there prime.. Ryan Leonard could hit 90-95 points in his prime and will be one of those players that is a game changer come playoff time… Leonard is the only player out of those 3 that will still produce at a very good pace in his prime but also has that dog in him that makes players ultra successful in the playoffs… the more I’ve been starting to really follow Leonard and really look at his highlights and stats is the more I start to realize that this kid is a special player and may be the best pick for Montreal.. I love Michkov and I would be happy with him to.. but if we decide to pass on him I would want Leonard… and personally I think Leonard is just a little bit better then Will Smith when you look at them as a whole…

  23. Drew I’m not sure if you’ve realized but Ryan Leonard’s story about why he is so competitive is very similar to the reason why Micheal Jordan is so competitive…. Kids that have older siblings and are forced to try their hardest to come out on top… and it usually breeds a monster competitor. Players that have that drive and will stop at nothing to be the best they can usually end up being the best in the NHL or apart of the best players in the NHL… like I’ve said I compare Leonard to Brayden Point and it’s definitely not out of the question for Leonard to be a 40 goal scorer and getting 90 points in the NHL I think we will see Leonard’s production be very similar to Brayden Points…

  24. Charlie Stramel scored the same points vs USHL in 21-22 as Leonard, in HALF as many games. Stramel is a couple months older, but significantly bigger and more physical. It's hard to gauge the members of that big U18 line because the whole was greater than the sum of the parts. Stramel graduated a year sooner because of his late 2004 birth date, but he was more impressive than any of the 3 top liners while they were together. I'd draft him over Leonard or Perrault without a second thought.

  25. Yall are crazy to compare Leonard to Point. Not even close. Leonard have a good shot yes but nothing amazing either. Hes slow in his read sometime and rely heavily on his teamate to make room and open space to produce against average competition. I dont see him being a force in the NHL. Maybe a 60 points in the right situation. My pick would be Michkov no doubt swing for the fence and before information Reinbacher was my next pick only for the tape. The guy handle swiss div 1 like a boss. Last guy comparable to do that ever, Roman Josi. I dont have every perimeter of this interview so I keep so reserve but only on tape Reinbacher will develop into the kind of guy you win Stanley Cup with. Those Cernak, Seider, etc are more valuable than those no game changer wingers and MTL is thin on the right side of the D. My opinion.
