Alex Burrows suspended 10 games for altercation with Taylor Hall
Daren Millard, Doug MacLean and Elliotte Friedman discuss the breaking news that Ottawa Senators forward Alex Burrows has been suspended 10 games for kneeing Taylor Hall of the New Jersey Devils.
The knee wasn't even that dangerous and probably didn't hurt. He is in the air with 0 balance and 0 momentum. The sucker punch and stuff at the start was way more dangerous it's just that he doesn't have any power or strength behind it. Kinda like Marchand when he sucker punched Gabriel landeskog straight in the jibs and didn't even drop him. Goalies get way worse knees to the face from skaters going by etc.
NHL…I can pummel your face till there's no teeth and blood spewing onto the ice.. .2 knees to the back of the head and your gone for 10….those we're love taps btw…not saying it's right but my 4 yr old hits harder than that.
That's what I would do if I were in Burrows' situation. He's a warrior. Live by the sword and die by it. I bet hall thinks twice next time he hits a player like Burrows.
I think 5 and 10 game suspensions are just not cutting it. Give them 15-20 as standart, there's just no place for things like this in the game. One thing is fighting where both are willing but this could just aswell be assault in "real" life.
