  1. Stevens originated this concept. Kronwall developed it also. When offensive players head up ice from their own end, they look to gain speed thru neutral zone. As a D-man, you can either back track, or take a chance and step up with an element of surprise. You don't need to hit illegally because the momentum is so great. Just a shoulder is enough. Is it an illegal hit? No. Is it an attempt to injure? Maybe. But it can't be tried in the NHL rule of law.

  2. pussies in the nhl these days, stick up for their teammates by punching the guy in the back of the head

  3. Excellent check…I hate seeing guys start fights after every big hit. I love fighting but every single really big hit, someone starts a fight. This would have been a normal check in the 90s-00s Perfectly played by the defensemen…the refs called the penalties wrong here too

  4. The commentators of today are hilarious. Every time there is a big hit, all they talk about is if it was a target to the head. Funny when you watch old Scott Steven hits, they never talked like that.

  5. Funny how Jets players boil over that yet Buf does the same thing where he gets praised for it. It was a clean hit. Come on.

  6. All I see is 2 for Roughing on Trouba and a 3rd-man-in misconduct for the other weenipeg coward. Zadorov will square up when it's time but he shouldn't have to fight 2 guys simultaneously.
