    Nah. Woll is ready for backup duties. Putting him as starter is just asking for more trouble. Bring someone in who has had success in his career and tutor Woll. That would be my first move.

    Work my way from goaltender then to defence. Then to forwards. The way it should have been.

    Surprised at all the goalie chat with Leafs. Their needs are more pressing elsewhere, LW top 6, top 4 D etc. Samsonov was fine, earned a raise (3,5M x 2) perhaps, Woll is an up and comer, so not buying into all the chat, and definitely not Vladar, though I do like him. Whatever Jets have to do to get rid of Wheeler, just do it. Thought Mitch Love would get the Flames coaching position. No doubt other teams will be calling him now for either Head or Asst Coach positions.

    Ilya samsonov was pretty good for us this year. The Leafs should try to bring him back, I think 3 to 4 million dollars. A year is fair.

    this years playoff do prove you don't need a " superstar " goalie . you need a team that plays hard , in the hard area's . Toronto even if they had a superstar goalie … i don't think would make much difference , with the defence they have .

    Detroit will take on Matt Murray for one year for Bostons 28th overall pick for Vancouvers 43rd overall pick.

    In playoffs 1) Leafs goaltending was good & 2) Round 2 – Leaf core 4 production dropped when it was needed the most. One Leaf fan – who posts warnings about me – commented that if Leaf core 4 players like Marner are traded – then Leafs will likely not make the playoffs in the next few years. Think that is a fun & interesting comment to monitor. Leaf goaltending trade is a low priority in my view.

    Samsonov, Knies, Holmberg for PLD and Hellebuyck. Leafs are not getting a top goaltender on the cheap. Leafs have to win now.

    Leafs goaltending was fine last year. They don’t have a bottom half of a roster, though and they’ve become slow. Plus the big guns are pussies in the playoffs (except Nylander)

    Samsonov has earned the #1 starters role for the Leafs this coming season and Woll should be the "1b" with 25-35 games. Samsonov played well for the Leafs.
    Re: Wheeler…. he's 36 and making $8.25 million this year. I say buy him out. Maybe he could go to a team barely spending up to the cap and mentor some young players…maybe like Bedard in Chicago.

    If canucks did move demko it would be for a huge return. Something like demko and OEL for samsonov and Nylander. So it will not happen

    Leafs just need players who will show some effort, like they actually want to win. The goalies weren’t the issue. Scoring was, go figure

    Excellent report as always–At this point, I really don't care who ends up owning the Senators, I only care that they are staying in Ottawa.

    samsonov goes down on his knees way too much and players are just shooting the puck over-the-shoulder Andover his blockerI mean a player isn't even over the blue-line yet and he is already down on his knees you need to stand up to cover more of the net take for example Ken Dryden I do think we need anothet goaltender and samsonov is not the answer
