  1. "What does the future look like for Columbus?" Grim, very grim. Jarmo Kekäläinen has just made two of the worst deals imaginable. It is almost as if he has decided to leave the CBJ and is deliberately sabotaging their team for the remainder of this decade. Reminds me of Stan Bowman (Chicago Blackhawks) and some of his brain-dead deals trading former 1st round draft picks, topped off by his ludicrous 8-yr deal with Seth Jones @ $9,500,000 per year. Bowman's trade of Phillip Danault to the Montreal Canadians for two plugs who did absolutely nothing to help the Blackhawks in the playoffs is especially memorable.

  2. What do you mean there's no excuse for the goaltending to be this bad? With Werenski gone, there was only Gavrikov that wouldn't be a healthy scratch on any other team. Look at Colorado when they got injuries? They we're out of the playoffs for quite a long time for the defending champs. Now take a team that that was expected to finish 11 to 13. Take out their # 1 defender, bench their #2 for trade related reasons and in stead of landing 13 they ended up 15th. At that time you tank. Washington only got Carlson 40games and they missed the playoffs. You need serious depth to loose your main guys and keep winning this days. Add Provorov and Severson to Werenski and Jirichek and you have a decent top 4. Don't know what Gudbranson is there for.

  3. They have ceulemans and Jiricek coming up on the right side, yet they trade for severson??? Idk i like the provorov trade, especially if they have Carlsson or Smith in the lineup now and they want to win now, but dang, nearly 7 mil for 8 years for a 28 year old that could easily be overtaken in 2 years internally?? Idk about that

  4. They need a real top line center. Not jenner/roslovic, as mich as i like them as players and a bounce back elvis and they are a really good and deep team. Their center position has literally no top 6 player that is good enough for a playoff team

  5. I don't think it makes sense for Cbj to draft Michkov
    1 because of the timeline
And 2 because you want to build a team to win a stanley cup and I feel if your 4 best fowards are Laine Michkov, Gaudreau and Johnsson, they're is not much grit and physicality there but just my thoughts

  6. As a Red Wings fan I felt CBJ got robbed in this draft lottery. Yet a large market team with expertise in tanking gets the top pick again and again.
I think the Jackets should heavily look at Michkov. It would make up for not picking #1 and may be a brilliant pick if he pans out. Whoever passes on Michkov and he goes on to become a superstar, oh boy the boo birds will be after those teams.

  7. we need a good goaltender. Tarasov needs more time to develop, and Merzlikins will likely have a bounce back season with actual defense in front of him, but we need a reliable backup that can take over in case if Elvis's numbers don't rebound.

  8. theres no way Mateychuk is anywhere close to being ready. he will play a 19 yr old year in juniors and likely at least one year in the AHL, especially given the depth cemented on D currently.

  9. Wingers and defence looks fine but they are missing that 1st line centre and a goalie who can play solid for +50 starts. I want to see them go get Dubois back just to fuck with jets, most likely would not make any sense nor PLD want to play in cbj even with a new coach, but for pure storywise it would be fun.

  10. I think Laine's point per game pace starts to be pretty much market value at 8.7M/yr. I looked at forwards with similar PPG production and their average cap hit was 7.7M/yr and Pavelski with 3M brought it somewhat down.
