  1. If he wants 9 mill a year he will need to go to Toronto, only the leafs would pay him that much

  2. As a habs fan I’m just fascinated to see how this plays out. Even if he doesn’t come to Montreal I’m just enjoying the drama.

  3. People hating on a guy for going out and getting what he wants, Just because you can't or are scared too, no reason to hate on someone willing to do it

  4. This would not be the first time players used Montreal to up the ante and get a higher offer from other teams.

The other thing you seem to have missed, Dubois wants to sign a long-term deal, not an extension.

  5. Is Nick Suzuki really better? # don't say so, and believe Pierre brings another part of the game Nick doesn't have, Not saying he is worth 9 mill a year, But Nick isn't any better

  6. PLD should become a referee, then he can ‘play’ for any team he wants on any given night as his desires change. He’s already a cancer! ✅

  7. If you give this cancer $9M/year long term, you deserve to lose. Even if he is a $9M player, you shouldn't give him $9M because other $9M players are worth more because they aren't a massive headache that you're going to have to deal with. This was the often overlooked thing in the Colin Kaepernick escapade; why would you sign a fringe starting QB that brings massive drama when most all other fringe starting QBs realize they have to do everything possible to stay in the league so they're going to avoid rocking the boat.

It's not like you're getting a Connor McDavid caliber player; then you'll tolerate the drama. Why would you willingly go looking for a drama queen when they're a readily replaceable caliber player?

  8. Kent hughes made it clear Suzuki is best player and no one will get higher salary unless a player his superior by far which PLD aint

  9. 9 mill if he was a playoff monster which he wasn't. Or a 100pt guy which he aint

  10. It’s a sound strategy from PLDs agent cause he knows the counter offer will be lower and allows for better negotiations leading to PLD getting around $7.5-7.8M

  11. That's a lot of money for someone who has never had more than 63 points in a season. I feel he's worth 56 million over 8 years (7 million per season) or 40 million over 5 years (8 million per season). But 9 million? Give me a break.

  12. He has every right to ask for whatever he wants…doesn't mean he will get it.

Player with a serious primadonna attitude asking for Cale Makar money is bonkers. Lmao.

  13. How about buy and try for a year 'til free agency? Is that an option? Seeing a consistent strong year and buy in to the culture the Habs are building would be a better option. If he wants longer or more money, then go elsewhere. Do not want a Matthews attitude in Montreal Thank You very much and certainly not a Tavares style contract… kick the tires for a year and see how he lands in his stated dream team. After six years he has not realized his potential and he did not kick it up a notch when paired with Kyle Connor… show fans and management results and maybe then we can talk term and $.

  14. Habs’s GM Kent Hughes made it crystal clear that no player joining the team will earn more than Captain Nick Suzuki’s $7.85 M AAV. No one.

  15. Not just the $ but the term with this guy. 8 years for a guy who has a record of bitching every 18 months is asking for trouble

  16. $5M is all he gets.
Dubois can not handle the pressure so, he gets a penalty on purpose so he can get off the ice. Dubois is a 'vibe buster' bad attitude bad effect on everyone around him.
I agree. The Habs nor anyone else will give him more than $5M?
He cannot be trusted when the going gets rough.

  17. I think there is a serious issue of character with Dubois which will be a problem for teams his whole career, unless he decides to grow up. I wouldn't touch this guy at any price.

  18. Correction, not all the players that Pat Brisson has gotten 9 mil is better than Dubois, because one of Brisson's clients in Seth Jones, who got 9.5 mil.

  19. If he wants 9 million he can stay out of Montreal. No way that is happening. He will not get more then Suzuki here if he wants to come.

  20. I have not been watched the video yet, I’m about to, but the title asked is he worth 9M. NOOOOO. Absolutely not, I’ll say this as a habs fan if he comes in higher then Suzuki or caufield I’m pissed, if he wants over 8 then sign somewhere else please we do not want you in Montreal, that is not worth the money, is he a good player yes he is, he is young int he prime of his career would be a great add in Montreal, BUT 9 MIL. Nope no thanks you, we have guys like dach slafkovksy guhle depending on who we take in this years draft maybe another forward of the future to think about, there is defence Harris, Barron, Hutson, all who I think could be good nhl players, I get that not all the young players will be staying here, there were 5 young d man on the blue line we can’t keep them all considering we have some promising ones coming up as well, I don’t like the idea of sending all this money out to bring a guy in who seems to cause problem with his coaches and team every where he goes, he has the right to do what he is doing but it’s still pretty annoying to force your way out of two organizations that have invested in you, I just don’t see how we could justify throwing that much money at him when we still have guys like Anderson long term, we have Gallagher long term, idk maybe I’m just dumb but if caufield can take a 7.8 contract Dubois can come in around 8 as well, there’s also a guy I would like to touch on who I think very highly of and it’s Owen beck, I was super happy when Montreal took him in the draft, I was confident he would be in the first round so I was a bit bummed when we took mesar but Owen beck I have been watching for years this guy is a real deal 2 way forward, very good in the dot wins a lot of draws, I think he could be a very promising 3rd line center for this hockey team. I think his ceiling would be a second line center, but I don’t think there’s any doubt he could be taking a 3rd line center spot on this team in down the road, I think he could be a very good shut down center similar to danualt, maybe not as gifted defensively as danault but very serviceable
