The coaching carousel rotated recently, so there’s not an immediate need, but I’m sure by the end of this coming season, there will be a spot or two.

Sens should take a flyer on Roy. I doubt Smith can coach them to the next level, and maybe Roy can’t either. Would for sure make them a team to watch though.
Disastrous-Group4521
I’m curious if he gets a team canada coaching chance at some level eventually
Or even a spot working for the QMJHL
randomguy041285
So which NHL team announces him as their new head coach tomorrow?

Come on Chevy, pick up the phone. We saw what we did for Colorado in our division – Bones isn’t here for a long time. He’s helping with the purge of our leadership core and then will be gone
qawsedrf12
must have nuked some bridges on his way out of Colorado
F-KR
it didn’t go so hot the last time. the only thing i liked was his willingness to pull the goalie with like 9 minutes to go in the third. otherwise, the record speaks for itself
Bayoffun
I hope he goes to Ottawa. Whole overhaul. Sure, he’s a loose cannon but that’s tantalizing as a fan.

The first exit from the AVS was great, the second, not so much.

Genuinely who I wish the Blue Jackets would’ve went for instead of Babcock.

Let’s go Rangers. Bring Roy to NYC!
Vic_Hedges
A team that hires him takes a huge risk. He’s a giant personality, very opinionated and you KNOW he wouldn’t think twice about calling out a GM or management group if he believed they weren’t doing there jobs
jehovahs_waitress
Anybody hiring Roy needs to have a contract clause insisting that he takes his bipolar meds as a condition of employment.
muff_nose_diver
I guess it’s time for ‘ol Wizard Sleeves to hang it up.
GivemeaReason911
He can’t take nhl teams calls with two Stanley cup rings lodged in his ear drums.
bingbong1976
Co-owner, head coach, GM….I don’t blame him. Pick ONE
VanillaLoaf
NYC is a heckuva town Patty!
Edit:
… Never mind… I just saw… Laviolette…
Fine! … I guess!!
Master_Shake23
He may be a great coach, but any team that hires him will also have to contend with his ego and over confidence. Not surprised that few GM want that headache.
panompheandan
Great players rarely make great coaches. And not only is Roy a great player but he also appears to be a little nuts. Having a HHOF member screaming at a bunch of juniors is one thing, but try that on a roster full of grown men and see how it works.
jurkajurka
Pat Roy needs to be back behind the bench. I’m not picky if it is the bench of the team he is coaching or the bench of the team he is coaching against.

The Leafs have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever
Flyguyflyby
Well as luck would have it, my beer league team needs a goalie.
Iliketomeow85
Roy should become a Quebecois Don Cherry
IrateWeasel89
He’s coming to the Blues as our new defense coach
brunus76
Lotta folks in Columbus thought he was going to be the guy. Don’t get me wrong, Babcock can coach, but the enthusiasm level from the fans is still a bit iffy. And the prospect of a legend who could have been a goalie-whisperer was interesting for sure.

Would love to see this maniac behind the benches again in the NHL
JerbearCuddles
Guy seems very unlikeable. Great player, don’t want to take away from his legacy. But man did he have some very public blowups. It’s not fair to hold that over him forever. Everyone deserves a chance to show they’ve grown up. But I dunno, if no NHL teams are interest. There’s gotta be a reason.
DeadMediaRecordings
I mean I don’t want him coaching my team, but I want him coaching somewhere. We need the entertainment.
redhawk1913
Let me guess. You won’t see him pop up somewhere else in a week or so
medfordjared
Maybe he can’t hear them with two rings in his ears?
MiloGoesToTheFatFarm
Patrick Roy innovated pulling your goalie with 9 minutes left in the third

Imagine Roy coaching the future nordiques! Tabarnak!
