What if Slafkovsky was Drafted in 2023?

OK Guys, its time to take a look at a recent article that was published by the Athletic’s Corey Pronman… He actually took the top 10 players from the NHL’s 2022 draft, and combined them with his top 10 players from the 2023 draft, and ranked them together as a top 20. Where will Juraj Slafkovsky rank at the 2023 draft? Lets find out!

The articles that were in the video were screenshots from Habsfanatics.com, I highly reccommend you to check out this site for further Habs News,

  1. slaf would probably be anywhere from 6_10 in this year's draft so I think he's spot on with slaf at 6

  2. What's good about that list is Slafkovsky didn't drop and this means at this draft, the Habs are going to draft a player equal to Slafkovsky. That's a win for me! Too bad about the Noah Juulsen pick. With wasted pick like this, no wonder the Habs struggled for so many years..

  3. refreshing vid. I think he'll turn out a star in 3 years with 40 points next year and growing each season.

  4. Slaf would be atleast top 15. Theres nothing in his game thats Elite besides his frame. He wasnt the best passer, shooter, iq etc…. In his draft class. And putting him in the 2023 Draft Class. He aint cracking top 15 in my opinion

  5. 6-7 is fair ranking for Slaf in this scenario. We all know he has much more potential than what he has shown this year, and the Habs had a horrible line-up more often than not, plus Slaf got injured. First two seasons are rarely representative of the overall big picture (unless superstar players), so cut the kid some slack next year as well.

But he has a good hockey IQ, he's willing to learn and humble, and he'll be surrounded by good young players in the next few years, so his development will definitely progress better as time goes. We made the right pick 👍 Couldn't care less about Wright , even if he kills it at some point. Entitled at 18 means ass*ole at 22. Not interested.

  6. I see Slavkovsky as a McCarron/Latendresse and a Jason Ward type player.I didn't mention Turner Stevenson because Turner was imo a more valuable tougher winger.
Man looking back on the last 20 years we had a couple good draft years but wowsers that is a lot of really bad draft picks.
It seems the Habs have as much luck in the very late rounds as they do in the early rounds which is a sign of really poor scouting.

  7. That Semin/Matthews drumroll made we lawl pretty hard. 🥁🤜

Keep up the good work sir.

  8. You know he got a face fracture from puck to the head.. The pick was fine.. the injury was severe.
I remember he had to leave the rocket lineup just to deal with headaches.. quite a few times. He was never the same after that Washington game.
Any who Souvlaki ;D would be between 5-8.. and Shane would drop off probably out of the top 10(if team had foresight) due to is wonderful attitude.. Hehe..
Interesting that Reinbacher still up there. Will Smith reminds me too much of Drouin but I hope I'm wrong if the habs pick him and he turns into a 'Kucherov' type player.

  9. Its funny because i feel that if Slafkovsky was draft eligible this year, he wouldve still been drafted by the habs, assuming bedard, fantilli, carlsson and will smith goes 1 to 4. The habs would probably pass on mitchkov because of the contract risk and wouldve taken slafkovsky as hes superior to leonard/dvorsky/reinbacher, who seems to be the rumored choices by the habs.

  10. I know he is on the Yotes, but I believe Cooley will be an 80-100 point avg player. He should be ranked higher.

  11. Going down the rabbit hole eh? What if chickens could fly,my lord what a disaster that'd be.

  12. People need to settle down on the overzealous negativity towards Slaf. He made the team at 18! And had some good games and some bad games. Considering his age, massive frame, major culture shock going from Europe to Canada, he did just fine. Let's see how he fares next year now that he should have some of the bugs worked out.

  13. He would probably be second or third. Bedard would obviously be 1. Fantilli could be number 2 or 3. Slaf could be 2 or 3 as well. He is huge. Teams want size. The Russian kid still has the whole political dilemma behind him and is a midget. I am not impressed with Smith. Leonard or the rest of em. They are run of the mill Average players at best who remind me of Shane Wright. I think a big part of the Habs actually Taking Juraj Slafkovský 1st was his attitude. He seems like a genuine team player. Fits in great with the others. He seemed mature for his age and willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win and fit in. He would go number 2.

  14. 1- Bedard
    2- Michkov
    3- Cooley
    4- Smith
    5- Carlsson
    6- Fantilli
    7- Slafkovsky
    8- Leonard
    9- Benson
    10- Mintyukov
    11- Nemec
    12- Jiricek
    13- Simashev
    14- Noah Ostlund
    15- Gabe Perreault
    16- Gavin Brindley
    17- Matthew Wood
    18- Samuel Honzek
    19- Frank Nazar
    20- Joakim Kemell
    21- Daniil But
    22- Otto Stenberg
    23- Andrew Cristall

  15. the real question is how far shane wright would fall….20th? 2nd round?

  16. Just wrapping my head around this. So does this mean Habs 5th pick this year is more valuable than first last year? Never thought of it that way, skipper, but intriguing.

  17. Pron's 11 to 20 is ridiculous. He's starting to challenge Craig Button for nonsensical bias.

  18. All the Slaf hate here tells me one thing. The quality of hockey fan in Montreal has diminished to foolish part time doufus. All you EA sports GMs that don't actually watch hockey and are only interested in Habs when they are winning are a problem. All you Habs fans who's only knowledge is what garbage TSN 690 hosts or unprofessional bloggers think are dumb as fuck.

  19. Slafkovsky would be competing with the Dvorsky in this years draft, big solid prospect. without being a super duper star. but still solid.

  20. Although they are different positions, Cooley is far better than Slafkovsky in my eyes. Not only is his performance showing signs of being much more dominant on the ice, but I genuinely feel Logan is going to blow up the league with how talented he is. Yotes got an amazing pick with him
