  1. What a great trade, good job Bergevin. I think we now have one of the best goalie tandems in the league.

  2. Bravo, Bingo, one-two- punch in net! Jake is an elite goalie in my book! Very impressed and kudos to GM, Bergy! Stanley Cup could come as early as next season!

  3. Amazing trade and finally a goalie the habs can trust at the backup position. I wonder what they will do now since we now have 6 signed goalies in Price, Allen, Primeau, Demchenko, Mcniven and lindgren.

  4. So we got Allen and sent nothing… we got the 3rd from sending kovalchuk to wash… bergevin signed kovi for nothing got a 3rd sent that 3rd and a 7th for allen and a 7th… he got a solid 2nd goalie for absolutely no cost!!

  5. Its a very good trade ngl, Jake Allen is a solid goaltender that can pull up good number's as a backup goalie for us when price is rested, this season coming up will be our big season, We will have nick suzuki, kotkaniemi and hopefully caufield comes ahead and more good player's in our lineup, I dont think we need max domi we can get him for a solid player.

  6. STL Fan here. Good luck to Jake Allen a class act and quality professional. A perfect fit for the Habs..

  7. I think that this is a great trade so long as Jake Allen is comfortable backing up Price and playing in the media freanzy that is Montreal. The cost of acquiring Allen was fairly cheap, however his salary at over $4m/season is probably too much for a backup goalie. We now have close to $15m tied up in net. Allen will HAVE to be much better than the last few G2's we had, or else his salary will become the issue in a hurry, regardless of how much cap-space the Habs have at their disposal.

***Side note*** Hey Rick….I love the channel and your insights but can you so something about the audio. My laptop really has a tiny little speaker on it and it's difficult to hear you talking sometimes. ps. Other channels I watch have much better sound. Just sayin!! Thanks man.

  8. Quality and very capable of sharing the work load … tough to have all money tied up in goalies but …. fuckin price Allen for a few years sounds nice. Hope to develop and retain upcoming talent with most of the rest available … great news

  9. Blues fan here. I will greatly miss him, and I hope he will be as successful and memorable to you as he was to us!

  10. remember the problem is getting Price to sit..they can not get him to take days off now so we now have a 4.5 mil backup goalie who will sit the pines for 3 weeks and then be expected to stand on his head….until they can convince Price to sit it will be the same old thing….Lindgrin was never giver a fair shot….Prince calls the shots not the coach or management….so until something changes I see this as a waste of salary cap dollars..sorry for not being elated but I just do not see this working without Price buying into the gameplan…and so far he has not given up control
