Why I Want: Albin Grewe – A Night In Prison & Next Marchand (Canucks 2019 NHL Entry Draft – Report)



I know most hockey fans out there don’t like Brad Marchand, so with that in mind, this episode of Why I Want for the Vancouver Canucks will focus on Albin Grewe, the most annoying player of the draft, and a player who plays a lot like Marchand. Grewe is one of the most energetic and intense players of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and someone who’s projected to be available around the 2nd round.

    Would love a guy like this. In 2011 we had Burrows, Bieksa, Kesler, Lappierre, and Torres. I know the game has changed but these types of players are so effective.

    Just call him the Count or Earl because that is what his name sounds like in Swedish (and spells although "misspelled with a w instead of a v).
    I would more compare him to Oscar Sundqvist of the St Louise Blues than Marchand. Marchand is to skilled but I would love another Swedish Canuck.
    Regarding pronouncing the name as a Swede, the first e is short like you just used it but the second is much longer. Why? No reason, it just suppose to be.

    I love this pick for the Wings. I was saying it would be a huge mistake to pass on him, and they somehow landed him in the 3rd round. I was expecting him to be gone by 40th overall.

    I think that I have played against Grewe and Björnfot sometime.
    I know that I have played against Lucas Raymond and maybe Alexander Holtz too.

    All I can say is that they are really good!
