It’s a simple topic on our hands today. Aatu Raty was supposed to be the consensus 1st overall pick at the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, but all that changed after the 2020-2021 seasons came along. With names like Owen Power, Kent Johnson, Simon Edvinsson, Luke Hughes William Eklund, Carson Lambos, Brandt Clarke, and Dylan Guenther on the board too, there’re legitimately so many other players who could take the 1st overall title in this tightly packed draft.

  1. He is doing visely not showing full potential and get picked by some crappy looser team.

  2. If somebody reminds you of McDavid when they skate then chances are he's going #1.

  3. All I know is Detroit better not get screwed again cuz if we don't have Rat, Clarke or Owen then F8CK THE NHL!!

  4. As an Detroit fan, i would like Luke Hughes. We have Moritz and Hronek as our RHD TWD’s. We lack a great LHD and someone who is great in the offensive end. I think Luke would fit perfect. + Hes from Michigan, and so is Owen Power so he would not be bad either.

  5. Am I the only one who thinks Jesper Wallstedt could become a dark horse candidate to get drafted 1st overall? He is expected to be the best goaltender to be drafted in about a decade. This year seems to be up in the air as far as a #1 overall draft pick, why not throw in Jesper Wallstedt in the equation. Marc Andre Fluery got drafted #1 overall, why not Jesper Wallstedt? He looks to become a sure elite future goaltender. I don't see it as a risk to take Jesper Wallstedt in the top 5.

  6. I drafted this kid, good solid 40 goal scorer point per game guy. Hockey manager games lol.

  7. Have to Say about Aatu Räty And his liiga games/Points.

He Will get More games And The game Will Take More wind under its wings. So his Point% Will Be better at The end of The season. And Well If his not #1 then someone Will get a steal. Just like Anton Lundell Will Be.

I really hope Räty Goes #1, but there is so much good players in The draft. But but but Well Im sure talk about Räty Will Be much higher when draft is getting closer And If he does Well in U20 tournament. (I belive he Will Be in Finlands team)

  8. Simon Edvinsson is the real deal. He'll beat Owen Power every time. I sincerely don't understand why he is always slated as 4th or 5th defender of this draft. Offensive ceiling wise, Edvinsson is the more talented.

  9. Yeah, its not pronounced like that, like at all.
Always like North Americans explaining how Finnish names are pronounced and still not getting it close :p
    Great video though.

  10. I don’t think he goes first overall but still has one of the best potential in the draft
Aaku Raty is unreal just need to get bigger and work harder at keeping the puck and needs to play more physical

  11. Owen Power, 3 goals in college, never draft a defensemen in first round top of draft who is not a super high end scorer. You can get a big defensemen who doesn’t skate great in second round.

  12. Currently it is the 2nd round of the draft and Raty has still not been taken

EDIT: He has been selected 52nd overall by the Islanders
