In a bizarre play, the puck lands in the back of Phoenix Coyotes goalie Mike Smith’s pants as he glides back into the net to give the Sabres an overtime winning goal.
But isn't the game supposed to be stopped after the goalie conceals the puck like when he takes the puck into his mitt? That was technically concealing.
It's basically Smith being Smith. He's the master of letting in demoralizing, soul sapping goals at precisely the wrong time. He brought this wonderful trait to Edmonton.

omg that was so funny
3 years to the day
Mike Smith's second career NHL goal!
Shouldn't have counted that's not fair
Hand pass? No? Ok, then.
It went from "You bet it's under review" to "The BUFFALO SABRES win it….. in OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVERTIME!!!!!!!"
This happened 2 months AFTER Smith scored a goal on the other team's net! Typical crappy Coyotes! They'll fold before long!
Mike Smith's life is just hella unfortunate
Hey congrats Sabres for winning it in OOOOOOOOOVERTIME
Ref should have blown the whistle about 4 seconds earlier than he did. He obviously did not have clear sight of the puck.
I wonder whom the goal was credited to? š
4th anniversary!

I love the call by Rick
I watched this game and it may be my favorite sabres game of all time
This ended up being Mark Pysyk's first career goal.
This did happen again, also in a Sabres game like 4 years later. They get lucky with the bizarre goals.
only Mike Smith could ever pull this off
