9 Hart trophies 😳
It was almost cheating having this guy on your team.
It was this moment, that a legend was born.
The goalie was Dave Dryden, brother of Ken Dryden
I mean it was also my Birthday.
51 goals and 5th overall in goals O-O
Seemed like decent player. Wonder what happened to him? He must have done ok?
I’m a Die Hard Gretzky fan. I still think his best year was 1983/84 when he missed 6 games and still put up 87 G 118 A for 209 Pts. At the Scoring pace he was on ,if he had played those other 6 games @ 2.82 PPP he could’ve technically had 7 more goals and 10 Assists for 94 Goals/119 Assists for 226 Pts…I know it’s Hypothetically speaking but it’s the not the first time it’s been analyzed this way. Anyhow when you look back at those 6 Prime Seasons between 1982-89 Gretzky scored over 1400 Pts in just 700 Games….Unbelievable Consistency!!
The wide open style of the "Live Puck Era"(1979-93) gave the appearance of an on-line hockey game in my estimation. lol
Was this before his 50th goal in 39 games?
Wayne says he actually tipped in the first ever Oilers NHL goal days earlier.
And a legend is born
the goal was on glen hanlon, not dave dryden,
Glen Hanlon said it himself when gretzky got his first goal" i created a monster"
Best stat line ever he is fastest to 1000 and also has the second spot for fastest to 1000…..yikes!
Wow what is that goalie doing? Just falls over…
It had to be the Canucks, who the oilers would torture for years to come.
He was the first star athlete in any sport who was actually younger than me. I remember at the time being in awe of that. Nowadays I’m decades older than all of them.
Wayne Gretzky is really The greatest one 🙂👍 I solute you 🙂
One of my best/loyal pals in sobriety was Wayne Worthington 😊 excellent surname
