This all makes way more sense now

To start game 5 with the cup in the building, news broke pre game that the Florida Panthers number 1 player Matthew Tkachuk would be out for the game. With their season on the line, you knew it had to be bad and now we know, it was. We saw Tkachuk make some huge hits these playoffs, but in game 3 of the Stanley cup final, the favour was returned when Kolesar rocked Tkachuk with a great open ice hit after which, Tkachuk was noticeably shook taking a stumble to get up and while he scored the game tying goal to push OT in game 3, game 4 was tough. He reportedly needed help from brother Brady just to be able to get out of bed. Well, after the Vegas Golden Knights took game 5, Paul Maurice came out post game and shared what was really going on.. Matthew Tkachuk was playing with a broken sternum. I cover this and more in todays NHL hockey video

  1. NHL players are as tough as they come, but should we be glorifying playing with serious injuries? Or is it just part of the game? Let me know your thoughts!

  2. Is it not karma that he tried to injure a fair few people only to end up injured himself

  3. Is there a corresponding video highlighting the injuries Vegas was playing with…?🤷‍♂️
Secondly, if you play more of a physical game, versus actual hockey, you've signed that waiver and take your lumps as they come…

  4. Idk if we should be praising them… Rather hope they'd get medical care instead of keep tearing up their bodies and future lives for a sport ..

  5. a broken sternum doesn't make sense considering the context. a complete fracture would be impossible to play with, as he would need to be immobilized entirely. even a partial fracture is super dangerous because if he got hit again, a piece of bone could pierce his heart. no trainer or doctor would clear him to play with that injury. either it is something different or they aren't telling the truth. it could be a lot of things, but if not a fracture of some kind, it could be a collapsed or bruised lung.

  6. Imagine not just scoring a game-tying goal in the Stanley Cup finals, but doing so with a BROKEN CLAVICLE… Say what you want about the guy but there's no denying Tkachuk is an absolute warrior and beauty of a hockey player.

  7. Panthers fans were worried about Jack Eichel. VGK fans celebrated Tkachuk’s injury almost more than the Cup itself. And that’s the difference between the two fanbases.

  8. Playing through injuries is not admirable, it's flat out stupid. There is a problem with the culture of the game and the doing through whatever it takes to win that needs to change. Players need to start being more concerned with their quality of life.

  9. It's difficult to distinguish truth from reality here. He's fine when winning and terribly hurting when losing. Soother-boy, who has a history of hitting players only from behind or while he is inches from a protecting referee, and mostly with the intent of injuring his opponent and not simply as a defensive move, finally got payback from a hard and perfectly legal hit. No sympathy here for this gutless and mean-spirited egoist.

  10. I felt bad for Matthew. He proved to be a real Teamplayer, Leader and Warrior! Get well soon Champ

  11. Weren't the VGK players taller and heavier than the Panthers too?
Maybe the Panthers trying to get physical with em caused or worsened those injuries because they're exerting more energy to knock em around.
Also, the other way around too with the VGK's except maybe not as much or severe injuries.

  12. i keep reading on this page that people can't stand kachook but would love him on their team. not me. he's a dirty cheap shot artist and selfish player. look at all the misconducts and penalties he takes. can't help your team from the box or the locker room. he has a knack for getting to the net and finding loose pucks and then he gets 10 for some stupid and selfish bush league crap.

  13. I don't feel for him as he made many dirty /cheap shots on players, this stuff will change when a player dies on ice from an injury they think they can play through,, Sorry but I don't respect player that do things like that and damn sure don't think they are warriors, not only can it cost them their career or life it will also affect others and the Cuu is not worth anyone's life..

  14. Don't mistake toughness and stupidity. Playing through some injuries can be very dangerous and could risk the player's career. I really hate the martyr-like image that some of these players get.

  15. After Chuk laid out Eichel, you knew it was a matter of time he was gonna get his. Vegas was a bigger, more physical team. Bad aggressive strategy by the Panthers…they ended up on their backs after 9 out of 10 fights. Knights could've EASILY taken this game deep into Fight Town USA..but they didn't. They had hellified strikers all over that team…didn't need to make it dirty like the Panthers were trying
