Pittsburgh fans enjoy Sheahan, while he had a very VERY snakebit season last year he has always been one of Wings more tenacious players and he has a pretty strong net front presence when used effectively on the pp as well as being one of the most defensively sound forwards on the team the past few years. Rangers fans Sproul is a strong future point man for your powerplay while he could use a little work defensively he will be a nice addition for your team that needs a bit more scoring right now for those extra powerplay points. And trust me, as someone who was at the game in which he scored his first goal, Sproul has an absolute rocket of a shot
I like this trade a lot. A trade I would like even more is anyone for Antii Niemi. Tampa lit him up tonight. He has been absolutely terrible…..again. Nobody will convince me that Tristan Jarry would be this bad as the backup. I haven't paid attention much to Niemi but he couldn't have been THIS bad over the last few years.
Shame, I like Wilson and was hoping he could play. The main reason I think was because Kuhnackl or Reaves. I think Wilson will be a solid third liner in time but this trade helps the Pens now as Sheahan answers the third line center problem. McKegg will stop to the Fourth line and Rowney will be a scratch.
The best thing the Pens can do right now is separate Malkin and Kessel. They are awful together 5 on 5. Hope if they've just gotten a 3rd line center they trust that facilitates Kessel going back to the 3rd line.
Wilson only played wing this year in the times he was inserted. Regardless of the injury he sustained tonight, Pens fans are confident Rowney would have lost his 4C spot anyway. McKegg's just better, and considerably at that. Don't think he's going anywhere. Supposedly Sheahan can defend a little, and we're hurting for some of that right now. He's young and he's huge. It's a step in the right direction I guess. Needed the center depth. Have to be prepared to deal with injuries.
However it's all pretty insignificant until the Pens get a backup who can actually play. Niemi just played the worst game I've ever seen from a Pens netminder in my entire life tonight. He has NO place in this league, that's as clear as day. The players are giving up on him, and I don't blame them at all. Completely demoralizing.
Not going after Pickard – who's had very strong stats and I have no idea why he was waived by Vegas – looks like a huge error right now. You just gotta hope that Jarry can step in and hold his own in this league. Otherwise, a trade is a must.
Penguins are rumored to sign Danis Zaripov, who lead the KHL in ppg, around a point a game, to play with his Russian friend Malkin. This will then allow the Penguins to maybe trade for a backup goalie.
As a Penguins fan, there is no way Carter Rowney loses his fourth line center spot to McKegg. Riley moves into line three and McKegg takes Wilson's spot in the stands he had the last five games.

Can't complain about this trade, basically upgrade a pick and swap bottom 6 for bottom 6
Great to be hearing your take on this already, and on the way to work no less. Love your dedication.
Love how active you are about news in the NHL, keep it up đ
Raanta has to make a save
Carter Rowney who plays 4C gets sent down. McKegg gets 4C. Wilson who plays wing for PIT is replaced by Daniel Sprong most likely.
Productive use of time. Looking forward to seeing what Sheahan can do. Rowney just injured his hand so maybe this could be a timely move.
Means no Matt Duchene for Pittsburgh then :S
Gosh darn it I liked Riley
Why do teams trade with Pittsburgh you don't want to make them them stronger
The Pens are getting smoked like a bad cigar rn…

Wings were waiting for AA to agree before they could move Sheahan

McKegg will center the 4th line
My guess is that the penguins were playing hardball with the redwings because they knew that they were pressed for money.
Tampa looking GOOOOOOOOOD
A GREAT DAY FOR THE DETROIT RED WINGS! Now we're just waiting to get rid of Ericcson somehow.
I genuinely donât think Sheehan will be anything special, never bought into the Sheehan hype and think Wilson wouldâve contributed more
Nice filter bro
The hockey guy being filmed in the roaring twenties.
Why does your mom drive you to work?
I got my "Farewell to the Joe" signed by Sheahan. Wishing him success with Penguins (just not against the Wings đ )

Penguins need a backup goalie…
Sheahan is awful. He won't help Pittsburgh at all. He couldn't score literally last year until the closer
4th line should be Rowney-McKegg-Reaves/Kuhnhackl

What's with the 1970's Western Movie camera film?
Good for both sides IMO. Slight edge to DET with the 3rd rounder and Wilson.
Detroit won the trade. Pittsburgh dealing all of their prospects and picks for pylons and scraps.

Hey, did you use that weird mm filter?
I hate Holland!!!
Rumor has it, Pens now working on signing Zaripov. Good things are happening in Pittsburgh.
Wow. You really go out of your way to make us content. Love the dedication.
Do you think this will help Detroit out?

Now Sheahan needs a yellow/black Teletubby costume. But in all seriousness, I applaud his work with homeless animal organizations in Michigan.
