Looking at the draft order and it looks pretty unlikely the Wild will be able to trade up.

The most obvious candidate is Vancouver at 11 because they want to draft a defenseman anyway (which they can get similar quality at late teens/early 20s) and have no 2nd round picks (and want them bc their pool is bare). But there’s a rumored trade with Chicago (prob swapping pick 19 and one of their *many* 2nds) being talked about and that just makes too much sense + I dont see how the Wild could beat it.

Arizona has their second pick at 12 and maybe they’d be willing to trade down to 21 but idk what the Wild would give them for it. I dont know if pick 53 and 64 would be enough or why that would make sense to Arizona.

Detroit has their 2nd pick at 17 but has a *ton* of 2nds better than the Wild’s anyway

Trading down has a couple of options that maybe make sense.

San Jose has picks 26 + 36 – a trade for Wild’s 21 + 53 could make sense if there’s someone San Jose likes and everything looks pretty equivalent to the Wild.

Nashville at 24 + 46/47 could make sense too
